Lost in the monochromatic world of Louise Nevelson today. There is something so silent and commanding about the way she gathers the "discarded" and builds it into a wall of mystery.

The deep shadows between the wooden fragments feel like they hold a thousand different stories, all painted in the same infinite black.

It feels less like an object and more like a place you could inhabit if you only knew the way in.

Historically, the invention of the basic cat door/flap concept is most famously attributed to Sir Isaac Newton, who legend says cut holes in his door to prevent his cats from interrupting light experiments

Built beneath the palace’s lead-covered roof, these cells were used for prisoners of the powerful Council of Ten, often in political cases.

Nikolay Polisski creates impressive, handcrafted structures in the middle of Russia's vast landscapes.

His works are built entirely by the area's residents, using local materials, such as branches, trunks and wooden tables. Traditional construction techniques are used as a starting point for the projects.

His work is inspiring not only because of its imposing form, but also because he managed to re-activate a semi-abandoned village through art and architecture, involving residents in the creative process and transforming the region into a sort of open cultural center.

“FOREST OF KAMI” by Ayumi Shibata

Ayumi makes breathtaking large-scale installation made entirely of hand-cut paper, layered to form an ethereal white forest. She draws inspiration from “Kami,” the spirit of the forest in Japanese belief, inviting viewers into a quiet, sacred space made of light, shadow, and impossibly delicate detail.

She builds depth and dimension by layering many pieces of cut paper to form immersive scenes, with intricate detail .
