@heartwilled​ sent… “Hibiki!” Unlike the first time she gave Hibiki Valentine’s chocolates, Ann approaches up to her boyfriend ( her boyfriend! is it silly to still find joy in thinking that? ) and produces a neatly-wrapped box of homemade chocolates with confidence. “Happy Valentine’s Day! I think I’m really starting to get better at making these!” Indeed, when he opens the box, he’ll find that the chocolates inside are much neater and more regular in shape than they were before. “If you have time after school, do you want to go out somewhere?”

   it’s kind of funny to think that last year, ann had pulled you out to the ‘privacy’ of outside in an attempt to gift you chocolate… yet here she is now, cheerfully marching up with a box in hand and not a care in the world as to who sees the two of you. as cute as it had been, seeing her out of her element, you think you like this much better. ann’s at her most radiant when she’s filled with confidence and energy; she shines so brightly it’s almost hard to look at her. ( but you’ll look anyways even if she puts the sun to shame, because the thought of tearing your eyes away is absolutely not an option. )

   all the same, your heart does a little flip flop all over again when you take the box from her and marvel at the cute wrapping. despite technically having been dating for a year now, it still blows your mind that ann takamaki might actually return your affections… and deign to go out with you, even, when there are so many other cooler, funnier, stronger guys that’d treat her right. you can’t think of any beyond ryuji or yusuke, but they’ve gotta be out there, right?

   oh, but you probably shouldn’t keep your girlfriend ( your girlfriend!!! ) waiting for a response. you grin at her, unable to help the pink filling your cheeks as you open the box to get a look at the chocolates. they really do look better! you kind of miss the clumsy charm of last year’s gift, but pride at ann’s achievement overtakes that. just like before, you don’t hesitate in eating one. your eyes go wide as they light up, and you nod enthusiastically while you chew.

“they’re amazing! you definitely improved at this,” you pop the lid back on before you eat the whole box in front of her. “but i still think last year’s were really good, too.”

   your dumb grin softens into something gentler and you set the chocolates down on your desk, carefully pulling ann into a hug. you’d kiss her, but you’re still in the classroom and you’re not willing to disturb everyone else trying to eat with that much pda. “happy valentine’s day, ann. you’re the best, you know that? i do plan on stopping by nacchan’s university after school; i baked her some cookies she could share with her boyfriend. wanna come along? we can find and say hi to haru and makoto while we’re at it. i’m totally free after that, so we can do absolutely anything you want today. my treat.”
