        “Well,” the word is drawn out, as she frowns in deep thought, dropping the aforementioned sword onto the table with little grace or ceremony. “I was going to see if I could get it enchanted, you know? But I always forget how expensive that is, what’s up with that?”

    Now, it’s more of a pout that tugs at her lips as she looks over the sword―it’s nice enough; sharp, and functional, sure, but it’s just too plain. “I was hoping someone could make it pink, you know? And I wanted it to smell like bubblegum, because I thought that would be kind of fun, don’t you think? I don’t think making a sword pink and nice smelling would be very expensive enchantments, do you?”

    It’s not as though she doesn’t recognize Yaomomo’s voice, the second she hears it―but that doesn’t really change that it takes Hisa half a moment to register she’s the one being spoken to, and she blinks in surprise when her gaze snaps up to meet the other’s. “Oh. Shit, really?”

      She probably looks like a weirdo right now, hands splayed across as many clothes as she can get them on on the shelf here, but that doesn’t occur to her as she cranes her head to see if there’s a clock in this store, to see how long she’d been here. The last time a group from the class had gathered at the mall to prepare for a class event, it hadn’t been this hard, had it?

    No, that’s a dumb question; of course it hadn’t. She’d pretty much already had anything she might need to trek through the woods at a summer camp―this is all for a formal event for the class and it’s also her idea of hell.

        “Whoops.” She didn’t find that clock, but the fact that anyone’s been looking for her is proof enough that she’s been here, agonizing over failing to put together an outfit resembling formal for too long. Shit, she’s gotta be late for the lunch meetup, hence Momo having to track her down.

    She flushes, only just rescinding her hands from where they’d been testing all the maybe-formalwear (look, she’s not a good judge; what counts as formal?) to see if any of it had felt okay. This… should probably not have been so hard.

    There’s a pause, while she mulls that right over in deep amusement. “You―both our horoscopes, huh?” She almost waits for a second, to see if he’s going to acknowledge the inherent absurdity there, but. Well, first she’ll indulge him, even though astrology’s obviously completely fake, because he’s her brother, and she loves him, and also it might give her more to laugh at.

      Habits drilled into them during childhood always seemed to stick regardless if fate had given them a do-over. Shoto watches his sister for a moment, gaze flitting to the spotless and rather cozy home that smelled of cleaning supplies. It felt…lived in, despite the fact that he had just arrived. Was this what a home was supposed to feel like? Welcoming him with phantom arms and drawing him in?    ❝ ━ Oneesan….it’s not messy. It looks like you’re settling in nicely.   ❞ He was proud of all they’d managed to get done, not matter how she would’ve protested.   

 ❝ ━  Maybe I can help unpack after you give me a tour? ❞ Shouto wants this. The normalcy of being a family, of being included with his brother and sister, with their mom.         “You think so?” The fretful edge to her words is subdued but still there, but―she takes a deep breath, reminding herself that she’s being ridiculous; Shouto says it’s fine, and there’s no one here to disagree. And she smiles, soft and painfully fond at his offer, eyes shining brightly at him. “Oh―you don’t have to! Really, you don’t get enough time off―you should relax, while you’re here!” She means it, too―he works so hard, at school; she wants him to just be a regular kid, here at home. Now that he can be.

like it’s canon that she and natsuo had to replace the family’s chef at a young age? she canonically cooked for him, she probably had to patch him up after endeavor’s training, she probably had to teach him how to use his ice, she probably had to do everything that their mom used to do around the house. and she CANONICALLY never moved out even though she’s an adult with a job and very well could have moved far away from her abuser, because she was staying to look after shoto.

even WORSE are the people who hc that fuyumi and natsu never tried to help shoto at all (it’s ALSO CANON that natsu didn’t want to go away to college because he wanted to help shoto and fuyumi had to convince him to go) and that toya, someone we know NOTHING about except that if he is dabi he taunts shoto and kidnaps his classmates in front of him so clearly doesn’t have much fondness there, is the ONLY ONE who cared for or was willing to risk endvore’s wrath to help him???
