He put the bracelet on, shaking his head as she continued. âSab told you everything didnât she?â He half laughed and shrugged. âI donât need one yet, they want to hold off until they canât. Iâm on a list but youâre stuck with me either way.â He joked. âSo how do you know the transplant routine? I didnât think leukemia came with transplants.âÂ
âDonât worry, youâre cool, I donât mind being stuck with you,â Reagan replied. âAnd she didnât tell me everything. I mean, you told me that you had a heart condition. She just kind of told me about the transplant and that you were here. I kind of forced it out of her when you wouldnât tell me. Nothing really can get in the way of me when Iâm worried about someone.â She shrugged slightly. âYeah, itâs kind of the last resort. When all the chemo and the radiation donât work, and your body still hates you, they suggest a bone marrow transplant. I wasnât on a list though, Royce was a match, so he donated. I mean the whole dying thing sucks, but then you get another chance, and you canât let it go. I canât lie, after a transplant, it still kind of sucks, because you still have anti-rejection meds, and doctors, and for me, I can still get sick again. It gets less though as time goes on. Are you up for a pact with me?â Rae asked. âWhen you get your transplant, Iâll help you learn the ins and outs of everything. Us sick kids gotta stick together, right?â
