And especially those two—that man is 800 years old and they haven’t been close in centuries, he is not their rebellious teenaged son that’s incapable of making informed decisions of his own

#everytime I think of the whole confrontation between them in this scene I can’t help but imagine like #what of your ex friends who you had a falling out with like a decade ago #just started following you around everywhere after you moved back to your old town #judging your life choices and your choices in friends/lovers #and then started forcibly making decisions for you #how wild would that feel #but instead of a decade it’s 80 of them #“but they care about himmm’’#okay. still not their place #I mean I get it #logically their actions make sense for their characters #warped perceptions of both of them/past history with both of them/ghost bias in heaven/differing views and virtues in life/etc etc #it all makes sense and would be odd if they didn’t #the writing is excellent #it was absolutely the right choice for mxtx but that doesn’t make the choice right for FengQing to do in-universe #if your actions were justified solely because they made sense to you then…whose wouldn’t be?#I’m not saying they’re evil or anything for all this lol just to be clear #just audacious #though I’m tempted to use stronger words for the amount of stress and humiliation they caused Hua Cheng #that hurts me more than the spell they put on Xie Lian #hualian #heaven official's blessing #tian guan ci fu #xianle quartet #tgcf
