JYP: We're gonna suddenly withdraw a valued member from their group just before their comeback forcing us to postpone said comeback.
Starship: Oh yeah, well we're gonna suddenly withdraw a valued member from their group DURING a comeback and force the rest of the members to still preform and promote for said comeback.
JYP: holy shit.
A little update <3

Stays, hear me out
I know itâs been two days and itâs almost confirmed that Woojin is no longer part of Stray kids but this isnât okay at all.
I think we can all agree that he was kicked out, and more than what JYPE said, is actually going on. But stays were so quick to accept it as it is, unjustified and sudden. Hereâs why you shouldnât stay silent about this at all.
This is going to be somewhat long, but it must be understood. I know Iâll probably get opinions about how we should respect that he left and that itâs impossible, stop giving false hope, but Iâm only stating the possibilities. Feel free to take them or just ignore this post. My argument stands unless we receive news from Woojin himself, JYPE is untrustworthy.
This whole situation just doesnât add up. It doesnât make sense, at all. Why would Woojin leave a group heâs worked so hard to be part of? A group thatâs fairly successful, quite successful overseas actually, and still in their early days? A stable company like JYPE? And in the midst of comeback preparations? Especially considering that stray kids have such a unique bond, it just doesnât feel like something Woojin would do.
So my take is: he was kicked out.
âBut they said personal reasons!!1!1!â
Yes, love, but do we believe that? There are enough clues that prove that JYPE is only being a shit company.
¡ Chanâs letter: this is where my years of studying authorâs word choice and context clues finally prove useful. Chanâs letter only assured me that something extremely off is happening with stray kids. Firstly, Chan posted the letter on fanship, at around 1 am KST, and idk about you but thatâs a very odd time and place to post such a letter. Iâm sure many korean stays were asleep at that time, and considering the fact that it was in korean, it shouldâve been posted at a more convenient time to reach the audience itâs intended to reach. Itâs suspicious. As if he was prevented from saying anything and he finally found the chance to. Secondly, Chan said that he âtried so hardâ to make Woojin stay and that we âmust acceptâ the fact they are not nine anymore. If this was really Woojinâs choice, the statement would be more like âwe will move onâ, rather than âmust acceptâ. This only shows that they were forced and they had no power to stop it. That Woojin was forced out.
¡ Stray kidsâ disappearance: itâs been more than a week and thereâs still nothing from them. We know stray kids, and they canât live a day without interacting with us in a way. Itâs just strange that theyâre silent. You might say that theyâre dealing with it, thus the silence, but are they really? If this was Woojinâs choice, the members would respect it and comfort stays, or just interact with them in any way. Their silence shows rejection more than acceptance. No, even if theyâre preparing for a comeback, that wouldnât prevent them from giving us a little update. This is just unnatural, Iâm sorry.
¡ Delay of album and photobook: just the fact that they had to change the date of release for these OT9 schedules shows that this is sudden news. I doubt that a family issue would be big enough to force Woojin to terminate his contract (still a possibility I have in mind tho), so it must be that he was kicked out for something that came out of the blue. Because they had plans for 9 and if they knew he would leave, they wouldâve prepared cle 3 for 8 (ew I hate that number so much wtf) beforehand. Since thatâs not what happened, itâs as clear as day that he was kicked out.
¡ Woojin, a few days before the announcement: nothing!! Nothing in his posts or attitude showed that he was uncomfortable or down, he seemed perfectly fine. Now I know, we canât always tell what people are going through, but I believe someone whoâs struggling wouldnât be posting selfies like nothingâs wrong. He showed no signs, there were no hints that this is a mental health issue. Plus, JYPE took care of mina so Iâd like to think that they would do the same thing for stray kids (JYPE is skzâs biggest antis I donât take objections). Point is, the only valid justifications are that he was kicked out, or that some serious family situation is going on⌠âpersonal reasonsâ mean nothing and clarify nothing.
¡ Crickets: again, the silence. But this time from JYPE themselves. The fact that theyâre trying to do this quietly is suspicious. If it was really a leave from Woojinâs behalf, something of his own choice, they would do what they did for Jamie. They would give the fans a good, properly written, statement and Iâm sure they would give Woojin a chance to say goodbye. But whatâs happening right now is exactly what happened with an ex-member of Day6, whom we later learned was fired. If this is JYPEâs way of handling potential scandals, well⌠thatâs a pretty crappy way of doing it⌠we shouldnât be brushing this off.
¡ Contract termination: terminating a contract takes months. Should it be done quickly, it will either require a lot of money from the idol or just a word from the ceo. Not to sound weird or anything but, I doubt that Woojin has the money to waste on terminating his contract with JYPE (especially knowing how much skz mean to him) so it must be JYPEâs word. The only situation in which JYPE would do such a thing is if the idol broke a rule and they want them fired, there is no other plausible justification for ruining a blossoming career. And considering that the news is sudden, it means that the contract was terminated in a short time, meaning that it was JYPEâs work.
Now that this has been stated, what can we do about it?
Iâve seen people claiming that contract terminations are irreversible and Iâve done my research⌠enlighten me if Iâm wrong but thereâs nothing?? That says such?? Again, google mightâve failed me so correct me if Iâm wrong but, termination doesnât mean that they canât write another contract. So telling stays who are trying to reach out to JYPE to bring Woojin back to stop is selfish and disheartening. Are you really willing to give him up that quickly?
Fans have enough power to change JYPEâs mind. If they see how much this will affect them, financially, they will rethink. So be smart. Do things that will directly affect JYPE, not skz in that context. Unsubscribe from JYPE, watch their stocks fall. Thereâs absolutely no harm in trying to spread hastags like #bringWoojinBack and #weWantWoojinBack. Chan fought to keep nine, Iâm sure seeing stays fight for it too wouldnât be âpressurizingâ as yâall are saying (ofc this is all under the suspicion that Woojin was forced out. If it was his choice we have no say in it).
I know itâs not good to spread false hope, but whatâs better, trying and failing? Or never attempting and wondering what wouldâve happened if we tried? At least we tried, at least we fought. But saying thank you and moving on? Idk but it just breaks my heart. We shouldnât be afraid of heartbreak, for life is not an easy walk in the park⌠you canât avoid things just because. Think of the better good.
If we wonât be getting that, they should at least provide a proper explanation.
Until we hear from the boys again, I refuse to believe everything is okay and I wonât be silent about it. I will fight for Woojin till the very end, and beyond.

thank you woojin for everything you've done for us đ you don't only have a heaven voice i believe since the beginning that you're a real life angel who's always kind and sweethearted.
take care of yourselves stay đ
#thankyouwoojin
hey, guys.
so i know iâve been pretty silent for the past few months, but i wanted to come on and say a few words regarding the pretty shocking and, for many of us stays, devastating news about woojinâs departure from the group.
for a moment, i didnât even know where to start. didnât know what to feel. part of me didnât want to believe what i was reading. iâll admit i havenât been as âin-touchâ with stray kids and stays and fandom in general because of school and general life obligations, but this seemed to come completely out of left field for everyone.
the shock eventually wore off, and i was left with the realization that every other stay is facing right now, or will be facing sometime soon: kim woojin, our beautiful main vocalist, skzâs resident teddy bear, has left stray kids due to undisclosed personal reasons. thereâs probably a multitude of emotions going through everyoneâs heads at the moment, my own included, and i just wanted to share a somewhat sentimental thought i had that helped me at least make some sense of it.
weâre all familiar with the phrase ânine or none.â supporting each and every member of stray kids as wholeheartedly as we support the group as a whole. it may be difficult or even saddening given these sudden circumstances, but i think now is as important time as ever for stays to keep that phrase in mind.
we promised to support woojin and the other boys through thick and thin, even if we truly donât know and may never know whatâs going on behind the scenes.Â
iâm not going to pretend to understand why woojin left so unexpectedly. however, as far as iâm concerned, he doesnât even need to publicly disclose a reason because in the end, itâs his choice. iâm going to continue supporting him in whatever path he decides to take next, and iâm going to continue supporting strays kids and the members through this and whatever direction the group chooses to take from here.
because i know that stray kids, whether theyâre together or apart, miles away or right next to each other, will always be nine or none.
forever.
#thankyouwoojin
Honestly what makes this so difficult is because it was so random
Stray Kids has always been so tight, so together they came across as a real family. Ever since the begining they were always so adamant about the number 9. Nine or none, ot9, 9, stray kids nine or none we're gonna cross finish line. They always seemed so close, always emphasizing that they couldn't do it without each other that they wouldn't be the same if a member was missing. So to get this news? It's devastating and I can't imagine what could have caused this and i can't imagine what the others are going through and quite honestly I'm a wreck right now but we'll get through it eventually and stray kids will get through this, and someday it'll be ok it won't ever be the same but it'll be ok.
Iâm sorry to the boyzâ fans, onf fans, day6 fans, pentagon fans , ikon fans and any fans of a group who had a member leave for not understanding before how much it hurts to feel this way. Iâm sorry to f(x) and SHINee fans for not understanding how youâd be feeling a million times worse than I do right now. And Iâm sorry to all the members of groups who had this happen to them. Iâm crying in the middle of my class right now and it hurts so much. I wonât be that active for a while until I can collect myself and think about stray kids without being sad. I love you Woojin, 9 or none.

god we were so worried about chan that we forgot about the rest of the members, well at least thatâs what i was doing.
i thought it was because of the hate chan was getting recently. but i guess it was much more than that. and iâm sorry for thinking that way.
woojin, youâve been nothing but the sweetest person in this group. you were the eldest, sure, but i saw how you really connected with the younger members that it warmed my heart. It made me realize how loving you really are and how much more you deserve. we may not know what exactly caused you to leave, but whatever it may be, we will still be here to support you.
so thank you. thank you for melting my heart whenever your soothing voice entered my ears. thank you for taking my breath away whenever you effortlessly smile, sing, dance, exist. thank you for being there for the members when you too were hurting. thank you for always smiling through the pain. thank you for joining stray kids.
i donât want to say goodbye, because iâm sure this isnât the end. but i will miss you. a whole lot actually.
stays will be with you every step of the way, just as we have always been. i mean, stray kids nine or none right?
i want you to be okay, i know it hurts and itâs hurting the members as well, but weâll get through this together. we got this.
âwhen things are hard, donât worry, Iâll run with youâ
thank you kim woojin đť
what hurts more i think is the fact that i watched them suffer to be 9, and be their happiest when they were finally 9. i thought they would be 9 forever... our fandom name is so emblematic to that, we make stray kids stay. but there are things that happen that we can't control and i seriously hope woojin is okay. he's such a good, gentle and talented person he deserves to be well and happy. and if this decision was to do that, then i'll be glad to be a stay that let's go sometimes, for the sake of the ones i adore so much... stray kids take care, woojin take care.
