Introducing a long awaited AU that I finally decided to work on bringing to life, Ghostly Chen. And since this might be the first time you guys are hearing of this AU, allow me to share some lore.
Like the original show, Ollie and his family are ghost hunters, and by the time Ollie is still alive, he already has his mind set on ghosts with everything he was taught.
"Ghosts are evil."
"Ghosts live to scare."
Simple as that. Ollie cares enough about what happened to his dad that he worries about innocent people ghosts may try to harm. Unfortunately, a chain of tragic events changed things. One day, while ghost hunting, Ollie came across a ghost and attempted to capture it.
However, his grave mistake was underestimation as the ghost was far more aggressive and dangerous than the others. No one knows what happened during the incident. As a ghost, Ollie is too traumatized by the incident that he doesn't want to go into details about it when asked. And it was said that Ollie's father, Ruben, was the first to find his body. Needless to say, the death was far too tragic than any other death that other ghosts had fallen victim to.
Ollie's death affected his family horribly. Since he was the first to find his body, Ruben was the most traumatized, and knowing that it wasn't an animal that took their son's life, both him and his wife, Esther, swore to find the ghost that did it and avenge their son.
And June? Despite being a ghost hunter, she lost the passion in it and was more focused on Ollie, believing he could have become a ghost and secretly wanting to reunite with him if possible (without dying, of course).
Ollie was in denial for some time after his death. Desperately wanting to see his family again and not wanting to believe he was truly one of the things he vowed to hunt down. He began roaming Brighton, taking in how it was constantly gloomy and not as bright as its name.
During his early days, Ollie met another ghost by the name of Blair, who helped him realize that ghosts aren't truly bad and that some, like herself, can be quite kind hearted. Having remorse for the times he brought harm to ghosts when he was alive, Ollie decided to redeem himself by helping BOTH humans and ghosts.
Due to being a ghost, Ollie couldn't reveal himself to humanity, and the best he could do when trying to help them was saving them from death while invisible, writing out messages, or possessing someone to try to help.
Despite not being able to talk or show himself to humans, Ollie still hasn't moved on from the human life he lost and wanted to talk to someone that was still alive. Before Molly moved in, he befriended Libby.
Other than Blair, Ollie had befriended other ghosts. Due to his kind and joyful personality and his background as a former ghost hunter, Ollie is treated as an outcast, to the point that even the council ignores him. So far, Ollie is friendly with both Jeff and Geoff. Geoff was one of the ghosts that tried to help Ollie in the early days of his afterlife. He knows it's not exactly easy to move on and accept that you're dead after all. Jeff tried to help as well, though, at the same time, he did find it a little concerning that Ollie used to be a ghost hunter.
Ollie was also familiar with Scratch before Molly showed up, mostly because of Geoff. While the two aren't close, Scratch does tolerate Ollie's presence. And how could I forget Molly and her family?
Molly enjoys being in Ollie's presence. Because she was thrilled that there was another ghost besides Scratch that could be her friend, Molly immediately welcomed him. I think it's also obvious that she even hugged him as her first response.
The rest of the McGees basically welcomed Ollie in with welcome arms. Overtime, he's considered a part of the family with how present he started to be.
Oh, and Mollie exists in this AU. Ollie started to fall for Molly first, though he questions if they can even be together since they're both between the lines of life and death. Molly, on the other hand, doesn't seem to care, or notice,why them getting together would considered almost impossible. And she likes the idea of having a ghost boyfriend.

Day 1 Prompt-Curse: One of my favorite scenes from my fic ‘Record of an Engoodifier’. Ollie casts a curse that accidentally switches their hair. Scratch does NOT like it.
Day 3 Prompt-Taco Tuesday: Scratch and Food is one of the truest OTP’s in the show.
Day 9 Prompt-Hygge: Everything was peaceful until Sharkie flopped in. Molly, Ollie and Scratch are stuck while June narrowly escapes. Libby can’t seem to budge the ghost shark and Darryl was ejected from the pillow pile.
Day 10 Prompt-Con: Darryl tried to run a con at a convention. Yes that is Todd dressed as Scratch, I was planning to draw this for a trick or treat prompt but there wasn’t one so I repurposed it.

I wanna see Ollie in his Chairman form grabbing his parents using terror, fangs and a snake tongue after I saw your request grabbing Todd like a squishy toy.
The Chens are SO FUN. As somebody who was repeatedly let down as a kid by the lack of story progress in Danny Phantom, I find this ghost-hunting family's dynamics and character development to be way more satisfying. They're all great.
Anyway. I'm thinking that Ollie & June would want to learn more about how ghosts (and especially the chairman!!) are able to feed off of negative human emotions like fear and misery. That wasn't explored much in the series itself, probably because Scratch *needing* to eat misery could've been, uh. Miserable. So my theory is that heightened human emotions of any kind can be nourishing for ghosts, it's just that fear & misery are the most intense and easy to get. Joy has an added danger of making them feel sick in high quantities, especially if they're not used to it. Ollie's biggest goal as the new Chairman would be to guide ghosts towards relying on joy moreso than misery, but the truth is that they might need a balance of both!
Day 9-Sick Day (Sick Molly will not rest, so extreme measures must be taken)
Day 11-Possession (Actually an old doodle. What if Jinx pulled a switcheroo and got Ollie trapped by his own parents?)
Day 13-Kpop (Darryl Kpop, June demon hunter)
Day 22-Corruption (Continuation of previous Corrupted Ollie art-Molly’s comfort helps calm her boyfriend down and brings him to tears from the fear and pain he’s in)
So I know the show recently ended, but I ended up binging through TGAMM and loved it! The Ghost Friends are all mood and the Mollie ship is adorable. Then I learned about the Chairman Ollie arc for the scrapped third season and IT WOULD HAVE BEEN SO COOL TO SEE!
I ended up writing down how I would imagine the story arc going down, and I headcanon that several of the planned season 3 eps (minus the ones that would clash with the finale) happened between JVTHM and The End (Ollie knowing about the wraith memory loss and how he says it could have hinted that it already occurred.)
My Chairman Ollie plotline: It starts with what was outlined in the already written scripts, and Ollie keeps spending more and more time in the Ghost World rather than on Earth. He’s becoming a little more forgetful as the episodes pass and has noticeable headaches. Things like his parents having a Root Beer Bar or the plot of the latest Country Pumpkin movie seem to surprise him when he should already know about them.
He’s missed a few dates with Molly and slipping on schoolwork so she takes an episode trying to talk to him at school but he keeps getting pulled away to fix something as the Chairman. The episode would really drive in how his human memories are failing even when he reconnects with his body and there’s a whole musical number on how Molly feels he’s growing distant. She finally catches up to him in the end and he looks partway between normal and being an empty shell(his hair is even losing the swoop!). She asks him out for ice cream but then we get a wham line “Sure, but… who are you?” Molly’s heart literally breaks as she discovers Ollie has lost all memory of her. He excuses himself and leaves Molly crying with Scratch and Libby coming to console her.
Next episode the remaining Ghost Friends are trying to figure out what’s wrong with him when June comes to Molly’s house trying not to panic. Ollie’s shell came home yesterday but not his wraith and he’s still not back. Molly, Libby and Darryl go to the Chen’s while Scratch goes to the Ghost World to see what’s keeping him. He finds Ollie still obsessively trying to engoodify the Ghost World and his orange glow is much more faded. Worse, when Scratch calls him by his name he asks who Ollie is. Libby manages to discover a page in her pop-up book that was stuck to another and reveals wraiths can lose their memories the longer they spend away from their body and without the will to live they cannot fully rejoin the two halves. Scratch arrives and with all they know they make a plan. Molly, Scratch and the Chen’s go to the Ghost World while Darryl and Libby keep an eye on their bodies. They get to Ollie and he doesn’t recognize anyone but Scratch, but has no emotional attachment to him. Big musical number as they all try to help Ollie remember but it doesn’t work. Everyone is devastated and it seems like Ollie might be gone forever.
Molly doesn’t give up, she pulls down his hood and cups his face, (this is where the drawing is) telling Ollie that she loves him and gives him their first kiss. Her yellow sparks course through him and his orange glow regains it’s color… and he regains his memories. When they pull away, Olly says her name and he’s pulled into a group hug as he says everyone’s names. He leaves the robe and hurries back into his body. A few hours later it’s just him, Molly and Scratch when the ghost council arrives. I haven’t come up with what happens to the robe but Ollie does relinquish his title as chairman and Scratch pulls the council away. Now alone, Ollie didn’t get to say it back in the ghost world, but he loves Molly too. They have another kiss and lean their foreheads together afterwards… and then Scratch comes back complaining that they already sucked faces once today already.
Update 5/27: Yep, I’m turning this into a fanfic. I said I wouldn’t but I got the inspiration on how to do it! It’s called ‘Record of an Engoodifier’
Been working on some post-series TGaMM headcanons and designs. I'm sure some designs will change as time goes on but here's what I have so far.
Molly's design was already done due to the times I've had her with timeskip Anne, so it was mostly just to write down some headcanons. Ollie being a ghost therapist I just had to have him dress like Bill Pullman from Casper. Andrea is both fashionable but mostly functionable for her job as a tech genius. Libby is perpetually in relaxation clothes for her to stay at ease to write better and more often. Darryl is supposed to invoke a shady car salesman with little brother vibes. June as an eccentric inventor of ghost devices that actually work just seemed natural for her.
