We’ve had so many brilliant scenes and I love when she’s sassy with people but I genuinely worry about storylines long term.

I know it’s a running joke that she’s always arresting the wrong people but that definitely could be a bad thing eventually, is she actually gunna arrest the whole street?

Also I know it’s entirely in character and it personally doesn’t bother me like some others that she doesn’t have friends but that just gives her less storyline opportunities if the only time she interacts with others is to arrest them.

Finally I love both these actresses but I’ve been watching the queen of the knicker factory since I was a kid. If Lisa’s scenes are nothing but police related or scenes with Carla then there’s less for factory nonsense and the likes. Carla is a massive character who deserves her own story’s they still can be Lisa adjacent cause she can come home complain/decompress with her wife and it will still be fantastic I’m sure. I know Ali has been having personal things that have limited her screen time lately so that’s probably part of it too but eventually I definitely want a Carla centric story.

Dumped Carla twice after they shagged cause Betsy was upset.

Had a meanty b outside Weathy gen cause she shot her kid in a freak accident.

Risked World War III with the missus over her thick shag.

Blew up her whole relationship so Betsy could have one with her incubator.

Let the love of her life go to keep Betsy safe.

Come to the realisation that this is completely on me. I already know Corrie is terrible at finishing stories so of course I was never gunna be pleased with this.

Wow, isn’t Sydney Martin just amazing. Love ar Betsy but pretty sure that girl is destined for bigger things!

Anyway suppose the moral of the story is you can give some one two strokes and aslong as you’re a bloke or your name isn’t Lisa Swain everyone will feel sorry for you 😪 and of course we have to make a woman the bad guy (Lauren)

Hopefully she will get some help she definitely needs it.

They’ve actually been really good at showing Betsy’s struggles after the stroke with her immobility struggling to talk etc. How long till they cba anyway and she’s miraculously better? Let’s be generous and say 2 months?

Okay so they’ve done it. Everybody feel sorry for Dylan! Everyone else is the bad guy now.

Honestly I just have to laugh. I really don’t like when they do issue based storylines because I think they’re preachy and annoying and mostly badly done (masons knife crime one was pretty good) I had high hopes for this one but it’s gone downhill for me fast.

So instead of exploring the legal consequences of what happened between Betsy and Dylan which would actually have been interesting they’ve decided to make him a victim and make a woman the bad guy (no surprise there)

I don’t like Dylan, they’re not even gunna split them up are they 😩 they’re gunna make it some stupid ‘Romeo and Juliet’ story aren’t they. I mean why bother with all this. What is the message. This is dangerous but ‘she wanted it’ so you won’t get in trouble. Brilliant message that 👍🏻 oh and now Dylan can blackmail Lauren 😂 fantastic.

I really hate this cause now they’re intertwined with the Connor Swains. Sydney is doing a fantastic job but I wish it was someone else. Now we’re gunna have Lisa being forced to let another person into her home for her daughter 🙄 I’m so drained. I love Swarla and having them onscreen but it’s nothing but trauma and it’s exhausting they haven’t even had their honeymoon.

Anyway I’ve read some fantastic Swarla fics lately and love reading people’s thoughts on the episodes (even more so than watching them myself) I actually haven’t watched Corrie full episodes in about three weeks. I had a holiday and planned to get up to date but the murder storyline really bummed me out. Making Todd basically irrelevant after all the amazing work they did on the domestic abuse story upset me. And Kit’s gunna get away with being dodgy and find a way to get Sarah off 🙄

I’m genuinely raging at Corrie lately. Can anyone help me understand what the point of Betsy’s coming of age storyline is please?

I was pleased with the first couple episodes but I was so scared for what was to come next because Corrie is like famously bad at the middle/end of storylines.

I saw so much discourse online from people who like myself had no idea of the numbers or the possible consequences. I also personally had conversations with people in my own family. It’s not often soap storylines can have that much reach, especially in the times we live in. It was also my first time learning that in uk law even if two people consent, if the person suffers serious harm like Betsy has Dylan would still be in trouble.

Now to my issues and some #spoilers for something coming up

So Dylan unwittingly hurts Betsy then does everything to dodge any responsibility including saying naff all and nodding along when his dad says she must have slept with someone else 🙄 then Lisa does the correct thing in reporting it to the police (also she’s Betsy’s mum for gods sake) and people hate on her cause Betsy didn’t want to report him - doesn’t Lisa’s job make her a mandatory reporter? Can Corrie please make these things more clear. Then Lauren has a human reaction cause she has past trauma herself and people are angry at her 😂

I know Lauren’s projecting but she’s basically been abused by men her whole life. Her best mate has two strokes and people are mad cause she’s being too mean to the lad responsible (regardless of his intention) that says ‘nah wasn’t me she must have shagged someone else’ (sorry for being so crude but he might aswell have said that 🤷🏻

Then today Ryan invites Dylan around ( I love Ryan and he is listening to what Betsy wants which is very important) but we all knew how it was gunna go. And now…… people mad at Lisa cause she doesn’t want the lad who hurt her daughter in her house 😂 I mean I’m glad he FINALLY took responsibility but yes of course she kicked off. She’s her mother. I don’t have kids but I’d want him to pay too. Hell I’m a full grown ass woman and my mother would be foaming at the mouth.

So later this week Lauren is gunna attack Dylan and I am beyond mad. How have they took this storyline and made him the victim 🙈 if he’s not gunna face any legal consequences and Lauren is… honestly what a joke (not condoning violence) why did they have to write it this way. The ‘bad guys’ are women (lisa and Lauren) even Betsy with him trying to say she cheated and he’s just a poor boy who didn’t know 🙄 this happening simultaneously with Sarah killing Theo - ain’t no way she’s going to prison 😂 atleast Megan got thrown in jail I suppose 🤷🏻
