So. You know. Sure, in any other situation with probably any other Master/Padawan pair, this would've been really great proper advice in this situation. Every first time Master likely has similar feelings when their Padawan goes on their first solo mission and worries about whether the Padawan is actually ready or not and needs to learn to let go of those fears and have faith in their training and allow the Padawan the freedom to learn from their own mistakes. But in this situation, it may have behooved them to listen to Obi-Wan about Anakin's issues because Obi-Wan's not actually being arrogant when he tells the Council that Anakin's not ready. The Council DID get that assessment wrong and Obi-Wan knows it and has to just let go of that worry in order to let Anakin learn from his own mistakes and hope those mistakes aren't too terrible, and then Anakin ends up going off and committing mass murder and abandoning his duty and getting secretly married to a sitting Senator. Obi-Wan had SUCH GOOD REASON to question the Council's decision here and gets given great advice that just ends up completely terrible specifically because Anakin is the worst person in the world and no one quite realizes it yet.
