Hawaii Pickleball

Fun pickleball play continues on Wednesday mornings at the Kahili Mountain venue on Kauai.  Four courts and good, friendly, competitive play.  Can’t beat the views, either.

Stephanie and I did a free court side pickleball clinic at The Poipu Kapili Resort (Kauai) this morning for a family of 21 from Calgary and Vancouver, Canada. Only a couple of them were familiar with the game. Very fun and athletic group. They caught on fast and plan to have a family tournament this afternoon.

The first ever tournament at the westernmost pickleball venue in the U.S.--Kekaha (Kauai). A fun round robin afternoon/evening tournament with 24 participants in men's and women's divisions.  Congratulations Kekaha Ambassador Lucia Bartels (and husband Ray) and Koloa Ambassadors Carol and Don Kolenda, for a job well done. Many other helping hands including Leona Bryant and Cherie Kinchloe, made this first ever event first class.  We all look forward to the next round robin.

Always a good place to stop for breakfast--before pickleball--or for lunch after.  Two nice locations on our south/west side of Kauai.  Kukuiolono Golf Course or Kiahuna Golf Course.

Hawaii Senior Games Pickleball Championships.  March 2-4, 2018 at the Diamond Head Tennis Center in Waikiki.  Registration starts on October 1.

Fun trip to California which included a quick visit to Paso Robles (lived there for three years).  Great to see Steve Sidwell (L) and all the other pickleball players who helped develop the game of pickleball in Paso.  Great memories.  Nice returning home to Kauai.

Our Kahili Mountain summer pickleball group.  We have been playing at this venue since early June.  Located just off the main highway in Koloa, Kauai.  The setting and the view....pulchritudinous!!
