There was a Reddit gifts exchange that was Bethesda themed. My giftee (the person I was getting stuff for) had never even touched a fallout game in his life, yet wanted me to buy him fallout 4 and considered himself a “hardcore fan” because he delved into the lore online.

Well, by that logic, no one would ever get into any series. That's like saying I can't watch a batman movie without watching every other batman movie. I've read the comics. I know I like the story of batman. Why can't I see the new movie? How do you expect anyone to become a fan of the series if they can't jump in now? Maybe they'll buy fallout 4 and realize they love fallout and buy all the other ones. It's not like 4 is continuing 3's story. That would make your argument almost understandable. But this is a brand new story in the fallout universe.

Before the event, fellow gamers at Boston’s Hynes Convention Center received threats of violence over social media linked to 18-year-old Kevin Norton and 27-year-old James Stumbo. Several hours later, convention security barred the two from entering the center. Okay, so, while you have a point, and you do have a point, this not the place to make it. This has nothing to do with the fact that they were gamers, nor is this a gender issue. This has to do with two sick people who saw an opportunity for honest to god terrorism. We should consider ourselves lucky that they didn't find their way into the convention. I'm just glad those kids, and adults alike, were able to enjoy their event safely. Like I said, you have a point. But it's not appropriate to make it here.
