4 years ago the #lmnadeassociates teamed up to help @loitheboi film @floeydrama ‘s solo trailer for @breakinconvention Their trailer was a direct nod to the film #lahaine and it’s positive portrayal of breaking & hip-hop culture. The scene is one of the most honest and poignant examples of hip-hop. As riots are kicking off, and the Police are chasing everyone in sight, the bboys keep breaking in the corner. To get perfect headspins they ignore the chaos and the police, and in turn the chaos and police ignore them.

Budget people! Our boy @dann_jose has been tagged in to dj a free L8 4am rave up tomorrow night at Makossa in #Dalston with the @londonfieldsradio crew. Free entry whacko vibes.

Dan from @needletothegrooverecords serves Game! . . . This is my final California record store shoutout from this trip. Needle to the Groove Records in #fremont is a long time favourite of mine and in my opinion, it has been holding it down almost single-handedly for the #southbay. It’s an old school hip-hip shop through and through with a banging selection of rap, funk, soul, electro, boogie, jazz, disco, hip-hop, bay rap and even lots of rock. It’s located in a super old-school South Bay neighbourhood called #niles. I love visiting this place as it reminds me of what A lot of the South Bay was like; mellow, open and rural. Dan is a super nice guy and mega helpful. He really helped sort me out with some gems in my insatiable quest to find bay rap 12’s, Dan also helps organise a lot of much needed parties and events in and around #Fremont and #sanjose bringing the Likes of @dam_funk and more to the area. He’s recently started his own record label also called @needletothegrooverecords and has two seven inches out to date. The label is eclectic and so far spans modern funk to Bollywood edits. Both are fire. Rumour has it he is cooking up some treats with the great P.B. Wolf, but we’ll have to wait and see what happens. So if you hit the Bay Area and want to have a great day out South please go hit up Dan! You can’t go wrong!
