8.9 out of 10. Careful, this may be your new favorite Batman movie.
When discussing #batman movies it is often debated which actor makes the best Batman and what actor makes the best Bruce Wayne. But a line in this movie supposes that Bruce Wayne IS the persona that Batman puts on for the outside World. In this movie that it is said takes place in YEAR 2 in the comics, Bruce Wayne is a recluse that filmmaker Matt Reeves uses Nirvana's song SOMETHING IN THE WAY masterfully to convey. #TheBatman might be both the best Batman movie AND the best detective movie EVAH. Now, that might be part hyperbole as they finally showed the detective side of Batman in a movie for more than a minute but it was a really good movie. Now all Batman movies have a darkness to them, he is the Dark Knight after all, but with it's detective work it's also practically NOIR. Seeing this at the small, intimate, and newly renovated Midtown Cinema was definitely a great idea. 😎🖤🥰
