"Je suis architecte dans ce quartier depuis un an et demi. Il est génial : il a du caractère et ne ressemble à aucun autre ! Franchement, je me demande comment une chaîne de télé peut tenir un discours aussi ridicule sur une ville… Inutile de dire que dans mon métier, on est attentif aux espaces dans lesquels vivent les habitants d’un ville ou d’un quartier. Les architectes réfléchissent en termes de possibles : comment permettre que les choses se fassent, que le lien se nouent entre les habitants… C’est sûr qu’il y a eu des erreurs de commises sur des bâtiments à Paris, mais il ne faut pas tout jeter. L’architecture prototypée des grands ensembles a, par exemple, permis de développer les standards d’hygiène, de rendre l’eau courante accessible à tous. Mais il ne faut pas se leurrer, de nos jours, c’est souvent la contrainte économique qui domine. On aimerait se centrer sur le besoin des personnes, mais pour cela, il faut prendre du temps ! Or, on est sur un secteur concurrentiel où il faut toujours tirer les coûts vers le bas… mais tout n’est pas perdu. Il y a des collectifs d’architectes comme le Collectif Etc ou Encore heureux qui ont une approche inclusive et militante de l’urbanisme ou de l’architecture.
