more talk on the "Solar's Night Terrors" arc I mentioned yesterday, this time on the symbolism I assigned to the Nightmares (while also giving the recharge decline):
Night 1 - Jack's Foxy plushie/Plushtrap (charging at 80%)
the Foxy plushie symbolizes "innocence"; the innocence of the people Solar had in his life (his Sun (who I named HeyDay) and Jack) that were lost/tainted by the inevitable (his Sun dying so that he could have his own body and Jack being controlled by the Creator to kill).
nothing happens during this night, not even the usual minigame with Plushtrap. it's just a eerie silence for Solar as he's forced to look at the plushie.
Night 2 - Bonnie and Chica (charging at 60%)
Bonnie symbolizes "the past"; Solar's title as a Eclipse and how they are evil and aggressive. yes, Solar is a "good" Eclipse, but the aggression still stays and it can never fade away no matter how much Solar suppresses.
Chica symbolizes "desires"; Solar's selfish wants that are impossible to achieve the more he is associated with the Celestial Family (in the rewrite of the reboot, he's a family friend). Having a peaceful life when associated with the family that faces villains and other issues almost daily is not optional.
this night acts like usual Night 1 from the actual game, nothing changes much.
Night 3 - Freddy and the Freddles (charging at 40%)
Freddy and his Freddles symbolize "parenthood"; more so unexpected parenthood Solar faced. Solar is faced with torment on whether is he a true parent to Jack or is acting like one to not upset him (it's clear Solar didn't make Jack to be his kid and the buildup/bonding from canon episodes of the show (that will be added into the rewrite in a way) does help him accept his role as a father and wanting a family).
this night can happen in Night 3 and Night 5, nothing from the mechanic is changed.
Night 4 - Fredbear (charging at 20%)
Fredbear symbolizes "survivor's guilt"; after Ruin committed the mass erasure of dimensions including Solar's and after Eclipse brought him back, Solar wishes that something happened differently so that other people didn't have to suffer just for him to live (the Overseer arc is not happening in the rewrite of the reboot because I rewrote the Overseer).
this night is more unpredictable but still acts the same when Fredbear is the lone enemy from the game.
Night 5 - Foxy (charging at 10%)
Foxy symbolizes "doomsday"; Solar is aware that since his revival, there are possibilities that he will die again and won't return and he fears for what will happen to Jack after.
nothing changes for the mechanic, but this night does end with Solar being woken up with Jack playfully scaring him with his Foxy plushie (idea by @flanphiptere).
Bonus Night - Nightmarionne (SHUT-DOWN)
Nightmarionne symbolizes "fear of love"; Solar's fears of commitment when bonding with potential partners (Nexus, Nebula, Andromeda). Solar does want a romantic relationship but again, he's gained a target to his back since he is close with the Celestial Family. So he tries pushing away the feelings to spare the heartbreak of his one-day death.
this night is entirely different just like Night 1, Nightmarionne creates and uses illusions of the potential partners to haunt Solar till his guard is down and "kills" him, which causes him to be so exhausted that he needs a week of recharge (and contact a cosmic entity to help with the nightmares (again, idea by @flanphiptere)).
again this will be on AO3 for better quality-
