Highway Man

TO BE PRAISED SO WHOLEHEARTEDLY by one of her dearest friends brings forth a blush of joy on the RULER’S sweet visage. though ASHURA may be humble & honorable, his lack of self-confidence evokes immediate protest from the QUEEN. “You  may have lost sight of your goals in that moment, but you had come back around for them, hadn’t you? I’d like to think that’s what’s most important.”

“And your desire for CHANGE and your perserverance on the battlefield is something to be HONORED – whether or not you agree with that. You claim to be a dirty thief … but I’ve never seen you as such, Ashura. You’ve been nothing but noble in my eyes!!”

     A chuckle leaves his throat from how she immediately disagrees with the words he’s spoken. She is right, he’s come around from where he once was, and perhaps that was the important thing. Knowing that he had been able to do what he’d always dreamed, chased after what he’s wanted most...but he still has her to thank for clearing his vision.

“I’m glad one of us thinks highly of me,”

      A bit of a joke he laughs at, but it’s true to him,

   Sympathy. Huh… He didn’t really feel it much often. Usually it was upon a rare occasion, but it seems that Ashura’s history was much more heartbreaking than he’d expected. Zero knew what it was like to lose those close to you, but an entire kingdom? He couldn’t even compare to the amount of pain that the other was going through. The man gave an awkward cough, eyesight moving downwards to the ground to avoid any eye contact.

     Sorry is not something he hears often. Especially in regards to what happened to his homeland. It’s not something he’s used to hearing, “I’m sorry” being words he’s never really bothered to listen to. What did the outlaw have to be sorry for? He wasn’t the one who’d destroyed his land.

“Don’t be,”

     He mutters softly, clearing his throat as he moves his gaze from the other’s face to the ground as well, fingers curling into the palms of his hands,
