SHE ROAMS THE SKIES

This is my third finals here and I still have no idea how I have survived them all. Any tips? tricks? ways to distract? I am down for anything at this point. 

This is definitely not making me feel better about going through my first finals here. Do you have any tips because I think I might need them more than you.

Well guess who managed to catch a bug while home for the holiday - this guy. It’s been a wonderful week.

How’s everyone else doing?

Aw no, I hope that you’re feeling better. I’m doing okay, just kind of preparing for all the work I’m going to have to do before break. I don’t know if I was fully prepared for this.

Thank you once again Hannah, I’m super happy for the same reasons too. Feels like a breath of fresh air, you know? Getting to exhale after an obnoxiously long time. Then you’ll always have a pair of listening ears with me too.

I definitely get what you mean, even if it’s for different reasons. Can I tell you a secret? I actually thought you were really cute and kind of had a little crush on you whenever we first met. Well, you’re still really cute. 

Hope you had a good time over there! Nothing too exciting has happened… I don’t think.

Did you and your brothers go home? I’m trying to adjust to being back on campus so I don’t think I need anything exciting to happen before finals, honestly.

True, but sometimes you need a mental health break. Finals are stressful as fuck. Not really, we mostly ate, napped and watched TV. What about yours?

You’re definitely right about that. I don’t think I was expecting to be as stressed out as I am. That’s pretty much all we did too, it was kind of awesome. And the food definitely beat the cafeteria here.

Yeah, I had a blast. Cedes came with me and it’s always a good day when my mama’s cooking. Got to see Taffy. 

Aw your first Thanksgiving together, that’s so cute. Are you guys doing Christmas somewhere too?

Thank you and thanks again! Then yeah, believe that works slash fits the situation. And honestly, it’s because of cool people like you that I felt safe enough to do so which means thanks once more. Then I hope you have an awesome start to the new decade as well, that a whole bunch of cool things happen!

I’m super super happy for you. And I’m super happy that you get to live your life the way you want to live it now. I’m definitely here if you ever want to talk about things.

Honestly? Not quite sure.

That’s kind of weird? No offense. It just seems like a weird thing to hold against your family member.

I think my grades will be alright, but one of them will not let me do the retake, the other one hasn’t said anything back to me yet. 

I’m sorry, maybe you’ll be able to make things up with your finals? There has to be some kind of balance between everything so the offer to help with studying is still there.

I had a really good one. Far, far away from Joie. No course books in sight. I hope you had a similar break.

I did! I’m sort of surprised at how easy it was to forget about everything, which is kind of bad given how close finals are. Did you family do anything exciting?

We were so close… and really not that far…

Did you have fun at home? It’s still so weird that we grew up so close to each other.

I’ve been in Colorado myself, so not sure what’s been going on around here. Nice to be back though!

How was it to be home? Was there a lot of snow? I sort of picture there being snow there all the time.

I hope not, because that means I wasn’t here for the exciting stuff either.

I feel like most people were probably with family or eating too much food for too much excitement to happen. 

So, it’s my birthday in case you haven’t heard! And while I’m looking forward to receiving gifts, there is one that I want to give myself. 

No more lies, no more hiding or watching what the hell I say. The new year is coming up and I want to be able to live authentically as this decade ends. So, in celebration of all that, there’s something I want to tell you. I’m gay.

Happy Birthday!! And congratulations? I don’t know what the exact response for someone coming out is, but I’m super happy that you feel comfortable enough to do it! I hope this is the start of an amazing new decade for you and you can be the happiest version of yourself. 

Guess who just found out she flunked two of her mid-terms?! Like seriously, could this semester get any worse for me…?
