"I… thank you." He bowed gratefully, the child in his arms making a small confused noise followed by a soft giggle. He straightened back up, his smile still on. "You are very kind. Again, I apologize for intruding… but you have both of our gratitude for allowing us to stay." His smile warmed, and he reached a finger to the child, who took it with both of her tiny hands and gurgled.
"My name is Yuu; this child is Shu-long." He again bowed, this time just with a nod of his head. He offered the woman a somewhat sheepish smile. "I.. also must apologize for getting your floor all wet. It is a bit of a downpour out there."
Another low roll of thunder crossed the sky, causing the child in his arms to freeze up. If they were still outside in the rain, she probably would have started crying again, but she felt safer in here. Yuu released a soft, relieved sigh, glad she wasn’t still freaking out.
Cicea's smile widened at the other's words. She backed away, mindful to not encroach on Yuu's personal space-- and as he bowed, she was tempted to do the same but caught herself before she followed through with the action. It would be an interesting experience for her to not have to express things through body language. It was something necessary in her life, and now that she no longer needed to, it was odd to be so... static.
But seeing as her company couldn't see, she wouldn't be able to convey much of anything through her actions.
However, as he introduced himself, she couldn't help bowing back-- and feeling a bit silly about it. Rolling her eyes at herself, she responded and introduced herself as well, "It's nice to meet you both. I'm Cicea. Shu-long is very cute, and I'm glad to see that you found shelter here. You poor things must've had quite the time out in this storm."
She'd nearly extended her hand for him to shake before she remembered he wouldn't have seen it. Her arm dropped back to her sides and she shook her head dismissively as she addressed his apology,"No, thats quite alright. It is raining rather fiercely so it's to be expected, so there's no reason to fret over it. I'd happily dry you off, however."
As the thunder rattled on in the distance, she paused, attention fixating on the child in Yuu's arms. Surprisingly, the child did not cry, though she was clearly still perturbed by the sharp clattering noise. A silent, amused laugh slipped past Cicea's lips. As the sound passed, she continued 'speaking'.
"That must've sounded rather strange-- I'm something of a sorceress is all, and I figure that you'd much prefer that your clothes weren't sticking to you."
