Ivan had finally started to feel as if maybe this new little town could work as home for longer than a few months. There were more than enough people around town that he’d known from his life before but it seemed as if things were calming down significantly. Now he found himself making it a habit to visit more establishments in hopes of familiarizing himself with more places.
So far the drunken lamb had proven to be exactly what it looked like from the outside - a watering hole for a bunch of rowdy drunks who all liked to hear themselves talk. He couldn’t complain though as it provided a good cover for somebody who just wanted to sit and observe others. “Um…” He’d been so involved watching those around him, he hadn’t noticed the approaching bartender until she spoke. “…I’m not really sure. The atmosphere followed by the people called me here more than the drinks. Any thoughts of what a quiet observer should be drinking?”
Ronnie eyed him for a long moment. He came in on the busiest day and a day when she was pretty much suffering on her own... to people watch? She didn't know whether to thank him or rip him a new one. Putting down her stack of cups, she decided to grab one of the copper mugs from below the bar and fill it with ice, setting it in front of him. She eye poured the ginger beer and vodka over the ice and added the lime juice before snatching a slice of lime and sliding it on the side of the mug. "You strike me as the Moscow Mule type." Hey it was light and something the people watcher could sip while eye-stalking folks. If he didn't like it, he didn't have to pay for it, but she was too busy to play the "guess my drink" game at that particular moment.Â
As if knowing her thoughts, another regular shouted about a refill and Ronnie felt her face heat with frustration. "Try it, I'll be back and you can let me know what you think." She left him to take care of other customers, grumbling about drowning a few of them in a keg.
