Exercises for all the homies who want to have a long career drawing.

The true problem with being an artist and drawing all day (as I wanted my whole life) is that human backs are not designed to hold that position, so it is very common for artists and designers to have really stiff shoulder blades, creating a chain of muscle strain towards the arm AND the back… and a lot of pain.

These are some physical exercises for artists and honestly anyone who works at a desk.

like, I don't think my life has turned out badly! have I made mistakes? sure. are there things I could do better? obvs. could I become much richer by exploitation of future knowledge? duh.

But I'm fine, really. I have a good career and good relationships and I live a comfortable life.

On the other hand, I'm middle-aged. I'm older than the average tumblr user. There comes a point where there's more behind me than there is ahead of me, and I may be already past it. And I want to live.

And this was meant to be a BAD thing. A problem. But if you actually believed that a massive population of low-literacy adults were buying books, becoming obsessed with them, and discussing them at length… wouldn’t that be a great thing? That’s how one moves from low literacy to high literacy: by practicing reading

While yes many of you know I did attend a private school this wasn't actually about *me*, I'd heard people describing <other person> as "an elite" due to their background. Which might not even entirely BE about the private school thing, IDK, but it made me curious how many would instinctively think that about someone who attended any form of private school without looking into it.

My personal vote falls kind of into "if I've heard of it" - if you went somewhere fancy-pants enough that I'm aware of the place then you at least probably have amazing CONNECTIONS regardless of how much money your family has. (Whereas I would not say that I have amazing connections at all! Sure I have a classmate who became a highly-regarded scientist* but unless I were a youtuber needing a professional chemist to explain something on camera I don't see what you could do with that and if I *were* a youtuber I could probably just ask around and find a scientist willing to chat anyway.)
