like i get it i get why people wanna make AM into tv head sonas or just Harlan Ellison Lite or whatever else but honestly i think if you gave AM a body, like Truly a body that was Entirely his, and after all the convulsing and struggling to breathe he would have to go through because being alive is disgusting at first breath and inherently traumatic, he would probably throw up then just curl up and divulge into sobbing like a newborn

i’m so close to writing a breakdown on why AM in ihnmaims is a woman/positioned similarly in terms of female objectification and his parallels to both ellen and gorreister’s wife that people just aren’t ready for

“why is ellen being tortured when she hasn’t done anything to warrant the torture?” ok so first off no one deserves to be tortured so jot that down and second AM is ultimately self-imposing himself as a force of punitive punishment— a christian satan who purged the world of life and now eternally torments these five souls in a hell he’s also trapped in— and also he is explicitly torturing these people for “kicks” and due to what he perceives as their “fatal flaws,” exemplary in their own pasts and/or personalities, which can be wholly arbitrary in their definitions of sins/flaws, and thirdly it’s because AM is a war machine programmed by racist & misogynistic individuals in an unfair system so it is ingrained in him to hate this black woman and also fourth and most importantly AM is also just as stripped of autonomy & objectified and enacts a sort of self hatred through a role he so desperately rejects that of a damsel in distress with no true power over his male colleagues and/or power in this toxic patriarchal system that he so desperately covets rights in
