A scratch.

A tiny stab to your arm with an angelic spear, all because you were too busy watching Alastor.

How troublesome.

Thankfully you saw that the deer demon fled successful. Allowing you to preserve yourself instead.

But before you could end that exorcists life a flash of green pushed it back and stabbed the exorcist with angelic steal.

You look towards the hotel walls and low and behold is your doe. Clenching his arm across an injured chest, the green aura of his magic marking him responsible for the exorcists death.

He staggers away to his radio tower.

You raise a brow at this.

You materialize next to your doe. You weren't just going to let him deplete his energy by traveling such a long distance up.

"You look terribly disheveled, my deer." He squeaks when you unexpectedly carry him bridal style, "It's a good look on you."

He recovers from the startle quickly, grin at full fake force.

"I- I could say the same about you!" He pokes gently at the stab wound on your arm, "You should- you should put me down, darling..." Alastor coughs up blood, "I-It'll strain that arm of yours."

Your hold on him tightens, to support him better, "Since when were you so caring?"

He freezes.

"...I-" He looks away from your face, but wraps his arms around your neck. "..."

Then begins the silent journey up the radio tower. Once the two of you are up there you gently lower him onto the floor.

He leans against the wall as you send off a shadow to retrieve bandages for you.

You take off the coat he always wears, then the shirt.

"Quite the slice." You muse.

"I can-" he coughs up more blood, "- manage myself, thank you."

Your shadow gives you the supplies necessary, you begin to work on your doe.

"My friends, they didn't even notice when I lost to Adam!" He giggles shakily, "Alastor Altruist died for his friends and they were absolutely unbothered!"

"How altruistic of you."

Alastor laughs.

His laughter grows until it trails off into another coughing fit.

"What would the papers say?" He says in his radio ready voice, "Absolutely nothing, because they couldn't care less about the radio demon!" He snarls.

You finally begin to wrap the bandages around his torso, humming in acknowledgement.

"..." The deer demons ears flatten. "... What was your incentive behind watching my battle with the brute that is the first man?"

You finish bandaging Alastor's wound. Sitting back, you smile at him.

"I couldn't have my pretty little doe dying on me, now could I?"

"It appears that's what the rest of hell was hoping for..." He comments, rather dejected.

You pet the tufts of fur on his ears. "Not all of hell, my deer."

His ears flick in uncertainty. Then his gaze drifts to the gash on your arm.

"Allow me to assist you with that." He takes hold of your arm, the radio effect in his voice starting up again. "It wouldn't be very gentlemanly of myself to allow a lady to bleed out in front of me!"

You laugh along to his jibe.

"You've grown on me, little doe. Truly."

The two of you stare at one another, for a moment, locking eyes.

It's a look of understanding.

"My deer!" Your voice carried through the hotel. It was only Alastor in the hotel, the rest of the sinners went out for trust exercises.

"My precious doe, where are you~?"

His shadow spots you, upon seeing you it disappears.

How rude.

You send your shadows to drag him out of wherever he's hiding.

"Alastor-" you pull the resistance you feel on your shadows, "-It's rude to leave a guest waiting."

Finally, the deer demon is on the ground before you. He shuffles to stand up.

His ears already pinned back to his head. It almost made you pity him. Almost.

"Explain yourself."

"H-Hello- it's lovely to see you! I wasn't- I-I didn't except you back so soon! I was working on the next segment for my radio show and-"

You lean into his space and reach your hand out to gently caress the back of his neck. "I ought to put a bell on you for this behavior. It would look cute on you..." Your hand suddenly snatches his throat, eliciting a choked squeak.

"My- My mother always did say I'm charming in anything I fashion..." He forced out a giggle.

"She was right you know." Your hand let go of his throat and went up to his ears. Alastor flinched, fearing a repetition of the last time you touched his ears. "When did you plan on telling me?"

"...?" Alastor shakily tilted his head, "I- I don't quite follow, darling...?"

You dig your nails into his ears. Your doe bites his lip to damper his pipe of pain.

"The souls you own. What's a pretty thing such as yourself doing stressing himself with such sophisticated matters?" You smile sweetly at him. Sickeningly sweet.

"Well, you know me- making deals here and there to keep this hellish economy afloat!" He jibes.

"I want them gone." You state flatly.

"What?"

"See? You can't even comprehend a simple command! My poor little doe, holding so much responsibility-!" You trail your hands down to his shoulders, "Free those anchoring souls to free yourself."

"No, no, no." He shakes his head quickly, "I couldn't possibly-"

His red eyes trail your shadows slithering across the walls, slowly closing in on him. His smile strains further.

"..."

You raise an eyebrow, amused at his daunted expression.

"...I- I'll let them go by tomorrow."

You engulf him in a hug, resting his head against your chest.

"Oh, my pretty little doe. Worry not, I will take care of whatever it is your silly little whims used to utilize them for." You run your fingers through his hair and hold his chin up to face you.

"All you have to do is sit back and look pretty. You can manage that, no?"

He nods hesitantly.

But your gracious self can forgive the hesitation.

You knock on the hotel doors that had become so very familiar to you.

The response is immediate. The door opens and reveals your pretty doe, all dressed up and ready to go.

"Little doe," you trail your hand along his fluffy ears, "Are you ready for our outing?"

The deer demon flinches at your touch.

"Absolutely! It's not polite to keep a lady waiting afterall!" He shakes his head, "Y-You made it especially clear I am to be at your beck and call..." He jibes, adding in a forced laugh for good measure.

You frown at his comment. You apologized for that. This outing is part of your apology.

Why is he acting up again? Being ungrateful!

You ought to put him in place-! You should-!

You take a breath.

No wonder you wound up in hell...

You hold your arm out to interlace with his, "Allow me to make up our past- predicament..." He takes your arm and you can already feel him shaking, "I assume you'd enjoy Cannibal Town?"

The two of you begin to walk to the other side of the pentagram.

He squints his eyes at you. "I didn't believe that to be your type of palette?"

"It's yours."

Alastor becomes stiff. He doesn't like this.

"We don't need to traverse there for my sake! Why don't we instead go someplace you'd-?"

"We are going to Cannibal Town, you are going to pick anything or things from the shops your heart so desires, and at the end I am going to pay for you to feast upon a demon corpse at a restaurant of your choosing." You send an annoyed glance to Alastor, "Is that clear?"

"Crystal."

"Great."

On the walk there, the radio demon analyzes every little action you take.

You tried to feed him to wolves not to long ago and now you're taking him shopping?

It must be a test. A test of what? He has no idea, but a test he knows would have severe consequences if resulted in failure.

Now you look peeved with him and he doesn't know why.

Why do you keep giving him all this attention only to turn it to malice last minute?

He simply doesn't understand-

"Little doe?" His attention snaps to you, "Is something the matter?"

His chest was heaving, his ears pinned back. And all over his own silly little thoughts.

What were you doing to him?

"Oh nothing!" He waves his hand dismissively. "Merely getting caught up in my own thoughts! I- I need to think about the next segment for my radio show!"

You hum in acknowledgement, "I listened in on one of your broadcasts. You have a talent for radio, little doe."

The demon tries to read if your expression is genuine or not.

"I would hope so! It'd be ironic if the radio demon wasn't skilled at radio!" Alastor taps his staff on the ground twice and it plays a laugh track.

You give him an amused grin.

"I suppose you earned that title."

"Naturally." He spins his radio staff.

Regardless you had stripped him down to the title of 'little doe.'

A title he was determined to not allow stick.

After some time of walking the both of you arrive at your destination.

Alastor released his arm from you, did a spin and jazz hands to introduce you to the town.

"Welcome to Cannibal Town!"

"It's..." You scan the groups of people here, walking, chatting, incredibly civil compared to the rest of hell. "...charming."

"Isn't it though?" Your doe's smile reaches his eyes. He seems to have relaxed. Thankfully.

"Well, little doe, is there anywhere in particular you'd enjoy shopping at?"

Then returns that discomfort you had noticed earlier.

Does he not appreciate what you are doing for him?

"Perhaps a jeweler? It's been some time since I've fashioned something flashy!"

"Are you thinking about the bell I mentioned a while back?" You laugh into your hand, but from the expression on your doe's face it was only funny to you. "It was a joke dearie," you nudge him playfully with your elbow, "loosen up."

Alastor forces a laugh, "Of course it was."

You sigh. "This is all truly for your fun, dear. No strings attached." You pluck a leaf that stuck to his hair, "Now, let's go get you something nice."

Alastor steals glances at you every few seconds to make sure he hasn't angered you in some way without realizing.

It's a strange feeling to him really, constantly kept on his toes after having held so much unquestionable power.

Knowing that at any moment you could snap and create a spectacle of him for the public of hell to see.

And no matter how much he wants to deny it... the feeling, it's become-

-Riveting...

You finally get the suit lapels to pin onto his suit. The golden chains shine, reflecting the light back to him through the mirror.

You stand behind him in the mirror and place a hand on his shoulder. "Its a darling look on you pretty doe."

Your whisper sends shivers of unease down his spine.

But nevertheless, your statement is true.

He does look "darling" like this. His mother always did want him to look his best.

He stares back at you through the mirrors reflection, "Well, I'm starved! Dinner sounds like a lovely next course of action!"

You smile warmly at him. The smile that confuses him. It appears so fond and so loving but it could turn sour just as fast.

"Whatever you like, pretty doe." You pat his head and go pay for the item he picked out.

He smooths down the hair you touched.

It's almost time for you to reveal the big surprise and you can barely contain your excitement.

You slightly bounce your leg and begin taping you fingers from impatience. Your doe is an incredibly polite eater, but also incredibly slow.

At the very least you could tell he was enjoying the food.

A jazzy tune emitting from his radio staff while he quietly hummed along.

At his last bite, you materialize a red gift box decorated with a bow. You slide the item over to him.

He flops his head to the side, his ears following. "What's this?" He flicks his gaze up to you in perplexity.

"A gift." You nudge it closer to him. "Open it."

"Aren't you feeling generous today!" He chuckles, begining to open the box. "I never thought you would....."

The radio staff stops playing music and the static is gone from the demons voice.

He saw the torn pieces of a soul contract in the box. He looks back up to you, "... How did- how... what?"

"I have my ways." You roll your eyes, "Do you like your gift?"

He's speechless. Stunned. He can barely manage to nod in reply.

Though he can't help but wonder how you knew about this.

How?

Your shadows pull his chair closer to you, you begin to pet his hair as he goes into another one of thinking spells.

"You are dear to me little doe. I can't have another being cause you so much distress." You grasp his face in your hands and gently turn him to face you. "You don't owe me anything for this favor. Consider it an apology for last time, my pretty deer."

Alastor allows himself to melt into your touch.

You are far to perplexing for his pretty little doe head to comprehend.

You could have easily kept your little doe's soul.

But you know that soon enough you won't even need to ask for it.

charlie

you know those cats that hate everyone except one person, that would be you with charlie

charlie won’t bother you or pester you about waking up for activities because you’ll just come when you can, and once you do you’re very engaged (only because it’s her)

as soon as you lie across her lap she makes sure she does not move 1. because you’re warm and she loves cuddling with you and 2. because if you got up and made a face at her before going to sit somewhere else she’d be devastated

she knows just where to scratch, massage, and pet you to get you to fall asleep or relax — she’s put very special attention into memorizing these things and literally everything else about you

vaggie

you can be grumpy together (mostly with alastor, she values your grumpy support when it comes to the radio demon)

vaggie loves to cuddle — if you come to sit behind her legs or between them she could stay like that for hours or just fall asleep

you tend to sleep in with her, 1. because she, like charlie, would rather be still for hours than have you grumpy and moving away from her, and 2. she could use some relaxing time with you before having to work

she can’t keep up with your naps, but she will pause what she’s doing to give you a little kiss on the forehead so she can snap a picture of you stretching and curling back up

husker

husk is already a little cat like (he’s literally a cat) so yall either get along great or you’re arguing all the time then sleep together (yk those cats that are hissing and growling and shit then cuddle while they sleep… yeah)

he lets you sit on the bar, but only because if he told you to get down you’d start knocking things off the counter “accidentally”

whenever he sits on the couch, if you’re not already asleep, you’re quick to sit next to him and lie on his lap. he might grumble a little, but he’s definitely running his hands over your hair and listening to you pur as you fall sleep

loves bedtime — as soon as you’re in either of your rooms, the first thing you’re doing is cuddling up and he might not admit it to anyone, but it’s his favorite part of the day

alastor

you know those cats that, no matter how much you move, they just won’t get off of you? thats you with al

he reluctantly lets you lie on him, but in the same way he lets niffty climb all over him, he’s not going to stop you. especially because he doesn’t mind how warm you are. not that he’d say it, but he does find you lying on him very comfortable after a long day and will definitely use it as an excuse as to why he can’t get up to do whatever someone is asking for

“can’t you see i’m needed elsewhere?” “i’m very busy at the moment!” and he’s just drinking coffee, reading the paper, and sitting with your head on his lap

when you’re alone, he’ll tell you that you’re welcome to lie on his lap “if you truly need to rest”

don’t get grumpy with him though, he’ll get up every time you come to sit with him

angel dust

don’t put it past him, he will carry you around if you’ve been lying on him and he needs to get up because 1. there’s no way he’s waking you up and 2. he’s not about to have you be grumpy that he moved (though there is a chance you’ll be grumpy that he moved you, but at least you’re still warm)

loves cuddling, but his favorite thing is making you purr by massaging your ears out scratching your head while you’re lying on him — and he absolutely loves when you lie on him

yes sitting on the couch is nice, but once he’s lying in his room and you come in and lie on his chest, he’s the happiest he’s ever been. especially after a long day at the studio

if he has to leave while you’re asleep, he’ll leave you food that probably won’t get eating until he comes back and wakes you up by moving your cushion slightly, making you all pouty — which he finds absolutely adorable

he can’t take any pouty/frowning/grumpiness from your seriously when it’s so adorable

sir pentious

you definitely have a bit of similarities when it comes to finding warm spots to relax in, and that probably led to you relaxing together because you refused to move, and he needed to be warm (that’s when he found out he actually enjoyed your company)

as quickly as he let’s you into his workspace, he kicks you out because you just keep knocking shit over, but then he let’s you back in cause you’ll just sit outside the door and sneak back in when he leaves momentarily

once he figures out how to get something warm in his workspace that you’ll just sleep on, he’s happy to have you there. especially because he finds you adorable
