I think this would be incredibly difficult for Frank.

The first time reader casually slides it into conversation — maybe about how hot the idea is, of being chased and thrown to the ground and fucked relentlessly, overpowered and helpless — Frank thinks he misheard. He asks her repeat herself. Avoiding his eyes, she does. She says it again, slower, softer, trying to shrug it off despite the warp of shame around the confession.

He’s immediately conflicted.

“Sweetheart… why? Why you want someone doin’ that to you?” He doesn’t mean to, but he makes her feel a bit bad. Reminds her of the vile men in the world that would do that, but she’d be left for dead in a shallow grave.

I think Frank’s reaction would come in stages.

First: shock. For a few days- it nags at him. Eats at him.

Second: maybe even… worry. Are you okay? Is this normal? Why do you want a man after you? Until he takes to his phone or laptop late one night while you’re sleeping, and he comes across rape fantasies in women. He’s blown away. He’s never heard of this before, and it’s… a shocking number of women?

He’s not well versed in porn. He knows the basics, he’s not stupid, but he isn’t familiar with the fetishes or kinks. Doesn’t watch it. No need to, no desire to—especially when he has reader, and before that, Maria. In between? Celibacy. There was no desire to jerk off. Maybe he did like… twice. But it was minimal.

(Note: I think @sochkila nailed this in her dub con fic, so my response is honestly going to align with it very closely aside from the ending of hers 😉 it’s a phenomenal fic btw, find it here).

He even watched a few videos and looked down at his crotch to confirm it did nothing for him. It’s too… savage for him. Feels too close to rape, even with the consent. Maybe that’s just the theatrics of the video. Then he deleted the history. Shut the laptop. Crawled into bed and held you so tight you woke and asked if he was okay.

Not her - not her fantasy - just… the fact he’d put six rounds in any motherfucker that has as much as an intrusive thought of doing that to her.

And then comes to the self worth question. His self worth. Is he not taking good enough care of her? If he doesn’t, would she want someone else doing that to her?

Frank wouldn’t intentionally make her feel bad about it. God, no. He’s not a prude. He’s not vanilla. Frank’s a freak when he’s comfortable, 1000%. But this one’s gonna take time and patience for Frank to figure out.

He’d never feel clean or forgive himself if the words “stop” or “no” came out of her mouth while he was touching her. He’d feel the same as the scum he puts down. He… just can’t risk it.

He’s not a man to deny her. Denying his sweetheart is rare.

So… he compromises.

Sits her down for a direct, honest, but productive conversation.

He tells her, point blank, he can’t do that right now. Can’t give her that so quickly. He’s sorry, he is, he loves her, she knows that, right? And reader understands too. She knows it’s asking a lot of Frank.

They meet in a middle. They find comfortable common ground.

That includes:

- rough sex ; physically pinned/restrained by his hands ; rug-burned knees ; bruises from his mouth because again, it’s hard for him to use his hands to leave marks (he’d be terrified if he stepped back and saw he marred your beautiful skin-especially somewhere tender like your throat-being a total savage. He doesn’t want you looking anything close to the bodies he drops).
