Fortunately for Bridget, the fan in question assumed Gwen to be a friend of hers, immediately apologising for interrupting them before making a hasty retreat — which Bridget quite happily played along with for her own convenience.

“Occupational hazard,” she answered drily before her attention settled fully on the brunette, not bothering to elaborate. “I suppose I owe you my thanks. Impeccable timing, I must say. She seemed to think the two of us were here together.” An amused breath escaped her. “Perhaps she mistook you for another actress,” the hint at her profession dropped under the guise of a casual remark. “You do have that look about you.”

Gwen stays quiet as she tries to figure out whatever status Bridget has that makes it easy for people to come up to her and ask for photos. She doesn't want to embarrass herself by not knowing. So, she lets Bridget do the talking which only helps for a moment. Her eyes light up at the title of actress - pieces falling to place of why this moment happened.

"Oh? Why, thank you. I don't think I'd do a very good job at acting." Gwen isn't good at being someone she's not. She's very much a true to herself kind of person. Which there is nothing wrong with actors - she just knows she couldn't be one. "Is it fun being an actress?" @bridgetbaxter

Gwen isn't much for rides, but with her past attempts at getting over her fears and trying new things - it makes sense to at least attempt it. She would rather have a few moments of discomfort if it allows her daughter to want to branch out and try new things.

"Honestly, I don't see enough trash cans over here if we were to do this before the funnel cake. What do you think we should do next?" @syrenaxharris

"How about pictures of us on the ferris wheel?" Gwen asks, knowing that would probably be the best spot to take the best photos. Plus, it was one of Beatrice's favorites rides. Her daughter grins brightly at the idea, eagerly nodding her head. @callme-harris

And there it was.

That look.

Bridget had seen it often enough over the years to recognise it instantly: the lingering glance, the flicker of uncertainty, the quiet debate over whether or not to come over. When they eventually did, she set her glass aside with a resigned smile. “If you’ve come over here for a photograph,” she began, “then I’m afraid I’m going to have to disappoint you.”

"Oh, I'm..." Gwen pauses as she isn't sure she's the one this was meant for. She didn't know exactly who this woman was and once glance around the room, it feels more like she was speaking to the person behind her who was very much looking in Bridget's direction.

Her cheeks flush with embarrassment at the sudden intrusion she had in Bridget's conversation. Maybe not as much as the person behind her who was gently let down from any sort of photographs.

"It's actually going really good. Everything feels a little bare bones, but the boxes are all unpacked." Gwen browses through the different books with a goal in mind to get something new for her. It feels as if she's spending most of her time on Beatrice that a moment for her sounds far off in the distance. But she supposes that's how summer breaks will always be - her trying to get as much jammed into a day for Bea.

"Almost twelve weeks. I haven't told many people and I'm about to find out what the baby is. Maybe no one will notice when I start to push around a baby in a buggy."

"It's quite alright. It's a confusing but beautiful time growing a little baby." Gwen smiles fondly as she thinks back to when she was pregnant. It's hard to believe it's been almost five years since Beatrice was born. How much things have changed since then - how much she's changed too. "I can't even imagine being a real grandmother just yet. My little Bea is about to be five so thankfully we have many years to go."
