Here I am, in the sun. A high security inmate, but they trust me to stay in the outisde after 6 years with excellent behavior. This state is more lenient ok security level for lifers also. And it's fine for me, as for other inmates a harsher system is better.

And here I am, in the sun in the outisde. Today exceptionally as a festive day we're out without restraints, usually they apply chains on our ankles.

24/7 behind bars. 24/7 locked up. 24/7 i'm leg cuffs. 24/7 in orange.

Today it's an exception and I'm not with leg irons because the guard broke the key.

And it was an impressive experice. Much funnier than every shower I took in my 23 years before getting arrested and getting my one way ticket to prison.

My first time showering with boxers on. My first time showering while handcuffed. And taking a shower in basically a smaller cell than my normal cell. My first shower behind bars!

It's an advatantage of being in maximum security unit.

Now it's time to go back there and after guard removes handcuffs and legcuffs I'll put on my jumpsuit again. Then guard will apply leg cuffs again until it's time for me to undress again for my ten minutes of shower twice a week.

Other advatantage of being in the maximum security unit I got asigned to automatically as an inmate serving life without parole it's the two places I move between are near. Not much walk. Basically just from cell where I spend locked up 24/7 to the shower twice a day and back to cell. I don't leave the unit. Sure, no day ligth but at least I'm always behind bars. Fortunately each cell has a small panel to cover us when using toilet.

When we arrive to the shower area My handcuffed hands are behind back, so he uncuffs me, makes me put hands in front of our body, and cuffs me again. Then he leaves me alone.

After ten minutes shower finishes, and the guard repeats process to take me back to cell.

First, this cell. My place since I arrived here at 18 years old more than 5 years ago. Where I'm locked up almost 24/7. Almost. I get two hours of rec twice a week and a shower weekely.

This cell is clean. The structure is fine. Concrete and a metal door. But the materials are in good condition. The cell having necessary equipment. Bunk, toilet, sink, heating system for winter, and a window so I can watch to the outside, wich really improves my mood. My routine is pretty relaxed and I feel calm.

Our uniform. We must comply with it even inside cell. Well, I would prefer jumpsuit but black and white is good even if it's t-shirt and trousers. And the orange sandals aren't bad. It's necessary somethhing colorful after all, so it's a nice details.

It's an interesting change and not a bad choice. Sometimes it's good for us to wear more normal clothes. Well, sometimes, actually everyday.

Only exception will be visiting days, as for visits we will wear a yellow jumpsuit at the visiting area.

Aditionally, warden enacted periodical mandatory head shaving.

Well, my cell could be improved and be in better condition, but it's a propper place to sleep, read or hang out.

And well, my cell where I'm locked up more than 20 hours a day is a safe place, so I. can relax here, but for the moments I'm allowed to leave, I must be aware. Some lifers with almost nothing to lose are dangerous.

But well, I don't mind this ball and chain. It's part of being an inmate so I'm starting to like it to. The problem is the chain broke. So I have to wait until this man patiently fix it to start my working schedule. And hope it won't break again because I don't want to carry it with my arms again.

When it's connected to my leg, I even like play a little with it.

I'm exhausted. Having it attached to the chain in my leg was one thing. But carrying it with my arms was exhausting. And there are new inmates (not all of them lifers unfortunately) who are waiting for their turn to get their ball and chain.

But why I have to wait in handcuffs?

My problem isn't the handcuffs, it's I'm wearing them during this waiting. That's the problem. I'm looking forward to arrive to my cell. My new permanent home forever. However to give the first glance first guards need to redo paperwork. This should have been finished before my arrival. But guard made a mistake and now other one is holding me until that guy finish the extra job.

I was so happy. Getting life without parole at this age. I'm just 18 so I have more than half a century or likely more than 60 years locked up in front of me.

But for now I'm not thinking in decades. Just in the hour I'm wasting because of bureaucracy instead of being inside my cell.

So far I'm the only one in good mood. Well, I like being locked up behind bars and our black and white stripes jumpsuit given to us as uniform.
