As you might have guessed by a title, this’s a teaser for a new rather ambiguous project of mine if I dare say so myself. This teaser can be considered as a future prologue.

Not all major pairings/friendships and other information/facts, which are going to be part of a project, are mentioned in tags.

I am trying to climb out of my melancholic hiatus, so, as a way to motivate myself (so to speak) I've decided to peruse through my old drawings, then stumbled upon these two works. Judging by the style these were drawn in, they have to be back from 2016-2017 of my creative era. I've slightly edited couple of mistakes here and there but I'm not going to finish these pictures since, believe it or not, I am proud of the results I've achieved almost 10 years ago and I would like to preserve this little piece of history :)

First of all, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you, my dear watchers and friends. To be part of this little community is one of the few truly inspiring and happy experiences I ever had and, probably, ever will be lucky enough to experience.

This’s not the announcement I had in my mind back in November. But life rarely goes according to personal plans and I have promised to talk about the future of my projects, so, here here we are.

As some of my more active subscribers have probably noticed, lately my main focus was on two TFA related stories of mine - “Stranger In My Mind” & “Icarus”. I’ve been experimenting behind the scenes with both of them, thinking on how I want to present them to the world. Today I am going to reveal some additional information on my vision on them and what awaits said projects.

TFA: Icarus

One of the most ambitious project I ever had, the very first one related to the TFA universe. A three-part complex story taking place after the finale of the mentioned series with plethora of relationships and characters to be in control of. Renewed war with campaigns stretching over multiple star systems, politics, cross-faction alliances are the main focus of the plot with a bonus of spark-based science more often than not trespassing into horror genre territory. The story includes plethora of pairings akin to more popular ones (aka BlitzBee, MegOp), as well as my own niche pairs (some of which I cannot reveal yet since the are very spoilerish) with a total count of main players of a conflict ("good" an "evil" ones) reaching up to ~20 characters.

TFA: Stranger In My Mind

Shorter story in comparison to “Icarus”, which is centered around a relationship between Megatron and Bumblebee (MegaBee is basically the main ship here with a sprinkle of 1-2 other ones (in a subtext)). While the previous story stays more or less loyal to the TFA show, this very experimental project takes place after season 2 (with season 3 being completely redone in order to suit the new narrative). This’s probably a more niche take on the TFA universe in general, since the plot has religious-esque elements in combination with my take on philosophical themes of identity, mortality/immortality, presence/lack of influence of our choices on the future.

My original intent was to start posting these two stories in parallel with each other, with both “Icarus” and “Stranger In My Mind” being created in different media formats. Unfortunately, my life has been turned upside down this November. To a point where I have to work more then before in order to sustain at least some semblance of a previous life and I don’t know how or when (or if) the situation will change for the best.

To be honest, I do not remember the last time I’ve been emotionally exhausted to a state when even a hobby does not bring me peace of mind and usual things do not quite bring me joy. This's the reason why I stayed silent these two months and wasn't able to finish any WIPs I've shown before. And hence why I am planning to take a break during this winter season and spend some quality time with my family.

In the light of recent events, I had to choose between two mentioned projects, since I cannot allow myself to work on both of them at the same time anymore. As a result, my choice fell upon Stranger In My Mind. Originally treated as a side-thing, this story feels more comfortable for me to work with in a current state of mind. I plan to post it in a format of a... drawn scenes, with dialogues and other narrative elements being added in form of subtitles. I will post some snippets from a story in such a format (prior moving on to, yk, committing to this idea) in order to test my limits and whether it'll work properly. But I truly hope that it will, because "Stranger In My Mind" has many silent moments/interactions which rely on visual elements of storytelling akin to gestures, facial expressions and the background keys in general.

All in all, I know all of it sounds kinda complicated but it is not that bad, haha, and I hope you will enjoy my vision. Do not worry, I will still post a couple of first chapters to Icarus project (the drafts I've been toying with this year), but please keep in my mind that this story will probably not be my main focus the next year.

November is almost on its way, guess it’s time to start working on a new picture dedicated to my Stranger In My Mind project

Sometimes, on the first stages of a drawing I tend to ask myself whether I am maintaining correct proportions of Bumblebee and Megatron, or there's a chance I’m making a Bot look smaller then he canonically is on an instinctual level for the sake of a plot.

But then I remember that Bee was called “minibot” for a specific reason. And when I take a look at official height comparisons from Almanacs, and at the inconsistent ones from the show, I’m like… ohohoho, I’m so in a “green zone” here, they’ve done all the job for me, ha.

31. which fandom have you drawn the most for?

Oh, you are a traitorous type of a friend - to choose one of the most difficult questions when you know I do not keep a good track of ancient works XD

If we’re accounting an amount of unpublished sketches to the total number of works - Yautja fandom. So far it tanks all the other ‘universes’ by sheer volume of concept art for OCs and worldbuilding elements in general.

Good memories can do a lot

As a person who, despite my love towards animated media, preferred to watch live-action movies for their mature stories since childhood, I was pleasantly surprised by the recent discovery of The Amazing Digital Circus. Despite my minor disagreements with a show, I advise people to give it a try - I did not expect to get emotionally affected by some of the characters' plotlines, which are centered around themes of "doubting reality of one's existence" and "loss of purpose in life through loss of memory".

All in all, I am looking forward for the future episodes and hope to see new interesting takes on philosophical topics.
