Hey. Why isnβt the moon landing a national holiday in the US. Isnβt that fucked up? Does anyone else think thatβs absurd?
It was a huge milestone of scientific and technological advancement. (Plus, at the time, politically significant). Humanity went to space! We set foot on a celestial body that was not earth for the first time in human history! Thatβs a big deal! Iβve never thought about it before but now that I have, itβs ridiculous to me that thatβs not part of our everyday lives and the public consciousness anymore. Why donβt we have a public holiday and a family barbecue about it. Why have I never seen the original broadcast of the moon landing? It should be all over the news every year!
Itβs July 20th. Thatβs the day of the moon landing. Next year is going to be the 54th anniversary. Iβm ordering astronaut shaped cookie cutters on Etsy and Iβm going to have a goddamn potluck. Youβre all invited.

FINALLY! I have seen the backrooms and can no longer be spoiled!
(... Too late. Turns out I was spoiled about everything π« )
Still sorting out my thoughts on it. So far I feel the characters were pretty under baked, but the concepts were awesome.
That being said, I was in a weird head space tonight, even before putting it on. so I'll ruminate on it longer and maybe watch it again before I decide where I land.
Now I think the only movie I have to knock off my list is Project Hail Mary.
I actually got spoiled for that one years ago, because my sister told me all about this awesome book she was reading at the time. So I'm less butt hurt about the thumbnails and fan art I've seen (Eridian Welcoming Committee I love you π).
I'll probably be able to see it in a couple of weeks.
Then I can FINALLY dive into all this Bloodymary stuff!
Less interested in the shippy aspects. I just think the parallels and contrasts between the stories are quite compelling.
I'm a little bit sad that I'm coming to the end of the list of new films I actually want to watch, though.
I haven't been this excited about movies in years, and it's been so nice to feel that again. :')

Ideal scenario would be something adventure/story driven.
I don't like romance, but I can deal with it if it's 1) very well written, and 2) a side point rather than the main plot.
Dark/horror themes are cool, if they are creative and don't follow the usual dark G/t trends. Just looking for something new.
Fanfics welcome, even if I don't know the source material. :)
Yeah, I know. I should probably just write something myself if I'm going to be so picky. But those are just the preferences I'm feeling right now. They're not strict guidelines or anything.

Now that the apples are in, we've just got our two peaches, and then we'll be done! πππ

Very weird.
I've been digging holes in the yard for the last few days, because we're planting fruit trees.
It's been a hugely frustrating task, because the ground here is chock-a-block full of big stones and boulders.
But there is something satisfying about just having one straight forward goal with a visible result. Especially when you can take your time and do it the way you want.
It started raining yesterday, and it looks like it's going to get worse for the rest of the week.
Now I'm stuck inside and I'm getting so antsy, because I can't dig.
What the heck?
I'm not even an outdoorsy person.
I hate bugs, I hate being too hot, and I'm not a huge fan of being dirty.
How did I get addicted to digging holes? That's a thing that can happen??
Crazy bored and unmotivated to do anything (but dig) right now. Bleh.
Of course, one perk about being sick is that you have a free pass to lay in bed and go down as many YouTube rabbit holes as you want.
