616 lore states that svartalfheim’s location on the yggdrasil intersects with the location of the british isles . this is the in-universe explanation , more or less , for some fae legends . this is why mala resembles more of a fae sometimes & why he has lots of smaller fae around him . ya know , like demented keebler elves !

we don’t know mala’s canonical age . we don’t really need to , just that he’s super fucking old on a human scale . so he’s canonically interacted during king arthur’s court in canon , as well , presumably tying into when myrddin was the supreme ( cobbled canon together , as far as i can tell : myrdinn was explicitly the supreme in the 2016's sorcerers supreme ) . mala is canonically tied to a few aspects of arthurian legend , specifically morgana le fay .

of course , the important point of this post is that i’m giving mala a black dog form . good night !
