Any Jacksonville-familiar friends on here? My dad will be remote working there for a few months during the week it seems and since it isn’t too far from here driving I definitely plan on visiting! Looks like lots of cool things to do via my quick search. But if there’s anything we should def check out let me know!

Big kid went to solo grandparents last Thursday -Sunday then my dad brought her home Sunday and got the little one. Little has been at grandparents solo Sunday - tomorrow. And honestly. It’s admittedly been a breath of fresh air for everyone. 🥴 We have about 3 (!!) more weeks of summer left and one of those they have a camp. And the other I think I’m going to plan a handful of out of the house fun things? Idk. But it was so so helpful in actually 1. Us enjoying them solo/them getting one on one attention and 2. Them having a decent break from each other that will HOPEFULLY allow them to play nicely/remember they maybe missed each other when they’re back together? Hopefully. lol.

Reminder ladies, that when you set the bar super low in appearance (ie, zero makeup and bum clothes mode 98% of the time) then throw on some mascara, dangly earrings and a comfy summer dress you feel like a million bucks to both you and the outside world. 😂

We noticed a very sharp spot in the bottom of our pool liner this weekend so I called the company that installed it and was like heyyyyyyy so uh what do we do? Anything we can preemptively do, thinking it’s a rock or something. But that we got our pool professionally installed for this reason so like ???
The owner guy is like, like well you see, it’s likely a horn beetle. Very common in the industry. They burrow underground then try to come up and then dies. I googled it and it feels like the shape of the sharp part????

Welp. Panic-bought some supplies to make a small backpack “period kit” for Big because I’ve been hearing about sooo many girls in her class or friends getting their periods and although we openly talk about it often I’m scared she’ll get it at school this year! Anyone else done this? Any ideas I’ve missed? Going to do period underwear, pads, and some flushable small travel sized wipes in a small zip pouch for her backpack just in case.
My kid just unprompted did the George Washington hair in the pool.

I say it all the time but ewwwwwww it’s stupid how good and productive and motivating moving your body first thing in the morning makes you feel for the rest of the day. Dipped my toes back in the water with a 15 min full body NML rando. Not sure my schedule moving forward but I’m thinking randoms then a scheduled program once the kids are back in school.

Growing up I used to cut my parents lawn with our fun riding mower. Since being adults we’ve had small enough lawns that my husband has always cut ours with a push mower. After moving here he was dying to get a not-cheap zero turn mower (I resisted a little because $$$$$$$$ 🙄) since we have just under an acre total. Since he’ll be gone during mowing season this time he finally showed me how to use the mower and i hate admitting how fun it is.
Also, yes they’re lying to us, mowing isn’t that hard 🙄 like ohhh nooooo I have to sit down and listen to music for an hour outside in the sunshine 🙄 lolllll

Whatever stage of summer where I walk around my VERY well air conditioned house in shorts and a bralette it is, I’m there. 😩😭
You know the parenthood/marriage phenomenon of like “you don’t actually hate your spouse but when you go out together or spend time without kids you remember you actually like them?”
One kid is at home this week and one is at a camp and after them fighting and being up each others butts all summer I am having this realization of “maybe both kids don’t actually drive me up a wall but when they’re separate/one-on-one, I’m like oh they’re actually decent human beings after all and I guess I like them.”
