Snowboarding days #13-19 at Steamboat Resort in Colorado! We just had a great week snowboarding in Colorado - my first time out west to snowboard and same for the kids. Steamboat just got over 2 feet of snow before we arrived so the conditions were amazing. It also snowed during our last day there so we ended on some really powder filled runs, too! The kids enjoyed trying out all sort of trails (minus the flat greens) and rode their first black diamonds! Lewis led them through some fun tree runs and they both had a lot of fun this week. The views were incredible and the kids thoroughly enjoyed their hot tub time and heated pool time, plus some precious time with friends on our last couple of days there. We celebrated our kids’ birthdays on Saturday with a double birthday party with just the four of us. Mira designed her own birthday cake for me to make (picked the colors, flavor, drip & sprinkles design), and I suggested trying out a pink marbling technique for the buttercream that she loved! Lucas’s Pokemon cake came from Blacker's Bakeshop (just like every other year) because I cannot make vegan cakes that taste good! Their chocolate cake (dairy free and egg free) is fantastic! We also made a mini rainbow balloon arch (Lewis blew them all up with the pump and tied them!) just the right size for the kids. Yep, Lewis and I have to duck through every time 🙂 Why not, right? How is my Lucas 6 years old today???!! 😭 Thank goodness he still loves his mommy cuddles, but he really is growing up so fast. He gets louder and more silly every year, and has been really loving to read, Pokemon, and perfecting his five karate forms. Mira turns 8 today!! 😭 My little baby is gone and her high pitched voice is gone too.... she is a creative and kind soul, with endless love for her friends and for her family. She is the best sister ever to Lucas and I am just the proudest mom.
