Good Enough

Like i honestly understand the amazing digital circus fans. You want some bullshit to watch with colours and stuff. You feel alienated by intellectualism and embraced by internet culture. I think we could round up the left wing by finding a happy medium within our culture, where hyper-intellectualism isn't a barrier for education. Most of us work full time and are exhausted at the end of the day, and don't actually want to do more mental work. That doesnt mean people shouldn't be able to educate themselves, but there should be fewer barriers to those who only have an entry level understanding but "have the spirit" as they say.

I think I forget sometimes not everybody has a humanities degree and actually don't have critical thinking skills readily available to them. I'm not advocating for mental atrophy, i'm advocating for outreach to underrepresented communities who are also undereducated but have left-leaning tendencies already in the form of queer activism etc. am advocating for radicalizing those members of the working class in the global north who are "on the fence" before they are taken in by neoliberalism. As it's been said by Che Guevara, we are in the belly of the beast in the US and Canada. It doesn't matter at the end of the day how people are radicalized against imperialism but how fast and how strongly we can mobilize. This will not be perfect but it needs to be done, and fast.

I feel ashamed of my goblin sticker now . I make sure nobody sees it on my commuter mug at work, by putting my hand over it when i hold my mug, or turning it so that the other side is facing outwards. I'm sorry goblin sticker im not ready to share you with the world

I know the "independent artist" scene has changed considerably with time and economic shifts and all that but it's really funny to me thinking about how someone can be like yeah my biggest creative inspiration is David Goddamn Lynch and then make something with writing on par with a cartoon for children and sell sweat shop plushies about it

so many people out there who will say they're "inspired" by something like David Lynch's ouevre or Revolutionary Girl Utena and not realize that they are aping the visuals without understanding that these works are most notable for the language they're constructing out of these visuals, which is all very purposeful, and not just someone going "I have to get weirder!" without depth of thought paid to the artistic decisions in question. you have yet to graduate beyond characters turning to the screen and verbally explaining the moral of the story and you are Starving for richer artistic meaning. try learning from the indirect message instead of what you're immediately presented. most of the time it isn't even that indirect tbh it just isn't accompanied by narration telling you what to feel and think so maybe get past that step first
