we all know that papa shane is VERY protective and definitely a helicopter parent, but what if for one day he wasn't?? like if he and little ilya have one day where shane lets ilya do (mostly) anything he wants.

omg i have so many ideas for what ilya would do xD definitely skate outside with shane for a while, and shane is trying to keep his mouth shut about ilya staying out in the cold for too long.

or ilya eats all the food he wants without any vegetables or fruit, and shane is silently screaming at himself for allowing this to happen xD

yessssss!!!! im finishing writing some final touches for a little ilya chapter rn, and omg i CANNOT get over the sweetheart caregiver shane and the little ilya who needs all the comfort in the world omg. (i might try writing/posting about little shane as well!!)

i dont think i have ever seen someone talk about this pair before, so here are my thoughts!!!

-you just KNOW they have the relationship of two very dramatic 3-year-old siblings xD

-i imagine little scott being all grumpy and saying things like, "ilya being mean!" meanwhile little ilya is just like, "no!" while making taunting faces at scott for like the 8th time

-and then kip and shane are just like, "boys be nice please!" with exhausted parent energy xD

i feel like ilya's favorite music to listen to when he is regressed is definitely soft russian lullabies :)

like when shane turns off the music, ilya gets freaked out and is like, "papa!!! music!! >:(" with an angry frown on his face until shane turns it back on.

Shane hit Ilya playfully, walking down the stairs with him soon to follow. “You’re so mean.” 

They eased down the wooden stairs, talking about Shane’s diet while laughter and teasing filled the cool air. 

Ilya stopped. “Shane?” 

“Yeah?”

“Thank you for everything.” 

Shane hugged Ilya, kissing his forehead as he pulled away. He took Ilya’s hand in both of his, holding it like an answer.

Ilya smiled; the kind that reached his eyes. “I love you.”

okay so i think we can all agree that little ilya and svetlana have so many "dont tell your papa" moments xD

I can't imagine all the times svetlana has allowed ilya to stay up past his bedtime, or have one more cookie with the exception that he cant tell shane

i have been so into little scott recenlty, and i feel like there is nothing about him so i wanted to share some of my ideas :)

when he is feeling little, kip will feed him his favorite smoothie in a bottle while rocking him (or give him a sippy cup, depending on how old he is feeling)

definitely started regressing because of stress and his parents' death :(

he will NEVER go out in public when he is little (way too self-conscious and has constant fears of someone recognizing him or the media finding out about him being a little)

the first time kip took care of scott when he was regressed, he took a bunch of pictures and sent them to elena with the caption, "look at this cutie!"

elena LOVES being with little scott (and she is literally the best auntie ever)

“Ilya, come here! I have a surprise!” Shane yelled, unable to hide his smile as Ilya walked down the stairs. 

Ilya groaned playfully, “Is it another boring book? Or maybe a second blender for your gross protein shakes?”

“Rude—and my shakes aren't gross! You should really try them; they are full of so man-” 

“Yes, yes, your shakes are amazing and so are you,” Ilya replied, kissing Shane on the cheek as he stepped closer to the box that was sitting on their dining room table. “What is in the box?” 

“Open it.”

Shane grinned, looking at Ilya’s priceless face as he ripped open the packing to find a pack of water guns, along with a container full of empty water balloons. 

“Since we are going to the cottage soon, I thought these would be fun—”

“Hollender, this is the best gift you have ever gotten me! You are amazing husband!” Ilya said, hugging Shane so tight he could barely breathe. 

“Stop interrupting me!” Shane chuckled, kissing Ilya on the lips softly. 

“Can we use them now?”

“We will use them in two weeks, when we are at the cottage.” Shane gave Ilya another quick peck on the cheek before walking back to the bedroom. 

“Just when I thought you weren’t boring anymore,” Ilya said teasingly under his breath.

okay, so is anyone else thinking that little ilya and papa shane do these ice skating days where in the wintertime (when the lake is frozen) ilya will BEG shane to go ice skating, but shane usally says no because its too cold or dangerous (like the helicopter parent that he is)

buttttt when he does say yes, it is literally the most magical thing ever. like ilya will be giggling his butt off while shane keeps telling him to be careful

“Papa…” Ilya whimpered.

Shane froze.

The word came out so quietly, he had almost missed it.

Papa.

The meds and the concussion didn’t matter in that moment. Ilya wasn’t wearing armor or stubborn confidence; he looked terrified. 

Shane hugged him tighter, wrapping his arms around him tightly—his grip saying more than words could.

soft nights

ilya hesitates, shoulders trembling as he slips into the dark bedroom. the air is soft with faint tea and old paper-shane’s scent, etched into ilya’s memory. unwanted tears pool in ilya’s icy blue eyes, clinging stubbornly before they fall. shane immediately noticed; he always does. although he didn't say anything, he opened his arms with a small smile on his face, waiting for his partner. ilya walked over to the bed where shane sat, the book beside him discarded to the floor with a soft thud. ilya crawled into the other man's lap; the tears he had been holding back for so long finally fell down his cheeks, along with quiet, broken sobs. shane silently rubbed his back with comforting hands; his presence was enough.
