Goldfish have a 3-second memory? Myth. Goldfish can remember patterns for months? Repost and ❤︎ if you've ever had a goldfish--or wanted one. What was their name, or what would you name them?
Drawing three VERY opinionated crabs. Which one’s your favorite?

The giant snakehead (Channa micropeltes) is a predatory freshwater fish native to Southeast Asia. This species is characterized by its elongated body and sharp teeth. Pet portraits I've done recently ❤️
The bluegill (Lepomis macrochirus) is a popular freshwater fish native to North America. It is commonly found in lakes, ponds, and slow-moving rivers. The bluegill is recognizable by its deep, compressed body and a distinctive dark spot at the base of its dorsal fin; this species also displays iridescent blue and green hues, especially around its gills. Bluegills play an important role in aquatic ecosystems, as they feed on insects, small fish, and crustaceans.

The European bitterling (Rhodeus amarus) is a small freshwater fish found in rivers and lakes throughout Europe. Like its close relative, the Amur bitterling (Rhodeus sericeus), it has a unique reproductive strategy that involves freshwater mussels, using them to protect its eggs. Although both species share this fascinating symbiotic relationship, the European bitterling is identifiable by its more muted coloration and its wider distribution across Europe, ranging from the Rhine River to the Black Sea.

The Oriental Butterflyfish (Chaetodon auripes) is a striking species found in the western Pacific’s rocky reefs and coastal waters, particularly around Japan, Korea, and Taiwan. They are known for their vibrant yellow body and bold black bands. This fish is often seen in pairs, a behavior typical of many butterflyfish species. Primarily feeding on coral polyps and small invertebrates, the oriental butterflyfish plays a vital role in maintaining the health of coral reef ecosystems.

The Amur bitterling (Rhodeus sericeus) is a small freshwater fish native to Eastern Asia, particularly the Amur River basin. It is known for its shimmering scales and vibrant colors. This species has a unique reproductive relationship with freshwater mussels, using them as a safe place to lay its eggs. The Amur bitterling shares this fascinating reproductive behavior with its European cousin, the European bitterling (Rhodeus amarus). Despite its small size, the Amur bitterling plays an important role in its ecosystem and serves as a captivating example of symbiosis in nature.

The super-red Arowana (Scleropages formosus), known for their vibrant red scales and graceful movements, is a freshwater fish native to Southeast Asia. They are often regarded as a symbol of luck and prosperity. Hi guys, it's been a bit since my last post. I'm currently in college, and with so many projects, finding free time to draw can be a bit hard some weeks. That being said, I recently drew a red Arowana. I adore Arowana fish. When I was a kid, I dreamed about having a giant aquarium and housing one of these gorgeous animals ❤️
Been loving drawing marine life, and these full environment pieces make me happy each time I get a chance to illustrate them. This scene features Snook Fish (big fish), Mullet Fish (small fish), some River Shrimp, and a Blue Crab—all commonly in warm Atlantic waters
