Ian took me here for birthday dinner. It’s in a beautiful converted home. It was my first time having Ethiopian food and it was delicious. I was intrigued by the roasted chickpea soup and asked about the ingredients. The young man said he’d have his mother come over, which I wasn’t expecting. Not only did she come over, but she sat down next to me and we talked about food for about 5 minutes. She even brought out some spice blend so I could taste them for myself in case I wanted to make it at home. I was blown away how friendly they were. I told her it was my first time having Ethiopian food and that Ian brought me there for my birthday. She then hugged me. So nice! And then, while we were waiting for the check, they surprised me with a piece of blackberry cheesecake. This was just one of the many heartwarming moments today. Thanks to everyone who made me feel special and loved today. ❤️

It’s times like this when life really comes into focus. We went for a hike this morning and all of the sudden, there she was just eating leaves. 🍃 We stopped dead in our tracks and watched. She was about 20 feet away in this clearing. She looked at me and I slowly raised my camera. We continued to watch her as she casually grazed and moved right. We watched for about 10 minutes. More people gathered. She didn’t run. Then she doubled back to the original spot I saw her in and retreated further back into the trees. Then we saw 4-5 little fawns leaping over a log. My heart melted. So amazing. ❤️
