“how will i explain they/them to my kids” i am a middle school teacher and instead of a gendered honorific i go by “teacher [lastname]” i don’t think i even told them my pronouns when i introduced myself and they just! got it! they had the context clues of the non gendered honorific and my general vibe and they figured things out on their own! they correct themselves when they use the wrong pronouns without being told to because children are smart and their judgements of the world are created by the adults around them! who knew!
