Gratitude.✨ This year has brought with it many ups & downs, but every single day I wake up grateful for each person in these photos (too bad the photo limit is 10). Camp Gladiator set my turned my path a full 180°, in the best way. The people I get to see and work with every day have the biggest hearts, work the hardest, and love the most fiercely. I’m so proud of all of my campers and how far we’ve ALL come this year. I couldn’t be on this journey without you, and you light up my life in a way I’ll never be able to describe. I’m so happy for a team full of people who help others first, even if it doesn’t directly benefit them. I’ve learned so much from my leaders and mentors, and been the most fortunate for the support I’ve been given by my CG trainer fam as a whole. Today I inhaled, took a couple photos of the beauty around me, and then ditched the phone and ran as fast as I could. I ran instead of screaming. The wind whipped my hair into my face and stung my eyes, offering an excuse for the tears streaming down my face, if anyone happened to be around to ask. I ran until my body hurt, chose to sprint over a bridge when I was most exhausted - because any pain was under my control. I sat on a rock afterwards and watched the water glisten as I let my breath get a chance to slow, and I let my mind go. • • • If you know me, you know I loathe running. Yes, I’m a trainer who hates running. Sue me. But this is the third year in a row where November 15th is one of the most difficult days of my year, and will be followed in a week by the other most difficult day, the 22nd. I feel somewhat differently on these days each year as I process the loss of my parents. One thing is for certain: it will never feel easier. This year has been one of the most challenging for me, and some of the worst things have happened. However, in front of just about everything else, I found the career I’m meant to have. I love waking up every day to help others, and it never feels like work. This year on the anniversaries of both my parents’ passing, I’m really heartbroken that I can’t tell them in person about my experience. I dream about even just being able to give them a phone call. It pains me to share this feeling of longing, but I know I’m not the only one who has experienced a loss, or who has felt this way. If I could get one more day, even one more hour, with each of them, I’d give anything. • • • I know my mama and my dad are the reason for my deeply engrained work ethic. I can thank them for the ability to love deeply, to trust my judgment, to follow what I know is right and to chase my dreams, even when my hair whips into my face and the tears start streaming. They’re with me every day, and I couldn’t be who I am without them. I am doing my best to keep learning from you, mom & dad, even though I can’t ask you for help anymore. My heart absolutely exploded tonight. I’ve been waiting for 13 years to see this band. Many missed attempts, many unfortunate times lost out on. This girl started as my camper and very quickly became my dear friend - the lil’ A to my lil’ B; my accountability buddy, and certainly one of my favourite people. She’s wise beyond her years, with the perfect amount of sass. She will tell it like it is, and the girl can outwork the best of ‘em - even with a knee surgery a few months ago, she’s for sure my most frequent camper, as well as my workout buddy and motivator when I’m not training. About. This past. WEEKEND THOUGH! • • • We celebrated a decade of amazing in the biggest way, and I’m still on a happy buzz from the incredible energy that was present at the DKR Stadium Dash. 💥😍 Campers showed UP in the most amazing spirits, and we showed the community just what CG is all about. 💪🏻♥️ • • • Starting your own business is a rollercoaster, to say the least. We work for an awe inspiring company who supports us to a mind blowing degree, but at the end of the day, every one of us is running our own gig - so we do essentially start from the bottom. I’d be lying if I said it was all one highlight reel; that I feel like it’s sunshine & rainbows constantly. The work we put in is HARD, and it is perpetual. But good lawd, I would also be lying if I said any one of the seconds put into this wasn’t worth it. This enormous event was proof of that. With little sleep and LOTS of preparation, we made it happen, thanks to the past 10 years of leadership, community, dedication, passion, love, and learning. Yes from within CG as a company, but more importantly, from our CAMPERS! • • • You people. You fill my soul with joy. I wouldn’t have even a fraction of the energy that I have every day without each & every one of you. YOU made this amazing. Seeing Y’ALL run in beaming with smiles & excitement, and come through the finish line the exact same (but sweatier 😉) - wow. What a feeling. I don’t have the words to accurately tell you how wonderful pulling this off turned out to be. ABOUT LAST NIGHT. Oak Meadows Ladies Cryo Night! • • • This camp cycle, I added 2 more days of evening workouts to our beloved Oak Meadows location - and it’s been amazing! 💓 Most of my people went from working out with me twice a week, to now FOUR. 🏋🏻‍♀️ that’s a big jump! So I thought, some recovery was in order. The truly amazing crew at @uscryo_austin had us over yesterday evening, and it was just what the doctor ordered! ☃️ We seriously had a BLAST (big BIG ups to the US Cryo team for wrangling our crazy crew, y’all are awesome) and we all left feeling amazing! ✨ I personally feel brand new this morning. 😌 • • • These are my PEOPLE. Family is the perfect word. I love every single one of these ladies so much - and of course all of our boys that weren’t invited - next social guys, I promise! 😁 Because of everyone you see in these photos/videos, I am a better person. I wake up every day, overjoyed to be able to do what I do. I strive to give everything I can possibly give, and be the best version of myself for not only me, but for them as well. My Bart Park crew always comes out and exchanges “I came here sleepy” for “I came here to SLAY.” • • • If you had ever, ever told me in the past that one day I’d be waking up at 5 AM for work, and I would be overjoyed to do so, I probably would’ve attempted to smack some sense into you, and laughed. 8 AM used to feel early to me. 😴 Now, I simply canNOT imagine a life where I didn’t jump out of bed eager to see my people. Excuse me: LET ME TELL Y’ALL ‘BOUT BECKY WITH THA GOOD HAIR. • • • This lil’ ray of sunshine hit 50 checkins yesterday y’all. (I’m posting a little late!) Becky has been one of my most supportive campers since I began as a trainer. She brings the perfect amount of sass & laughter to every camp, she’s one of the best, coolest moms I’ve ever known, and she has singlehandedly been a HUGE, integral part in helping Oak Meadows crew grow. Becky’s got the whole fam out there now, and there’s honestly nothing better than when they’re all out at camp working out together. They bring such amazing positivity & hard work, and even though they’re a whole fabulous squad, they welcome every new camper with open arms. I’m not lying when I say these ladies, along with my other OG Oak Meadows regulars (@nessa.lynn, Donovan, @jaynejaramillo & family, Mandy, @kat_bird23, Robert) are the reason that I pushed to add two times here, and run camps every single day. Two days with these people was just. NOT. enough for me! I hit the pillow at night and hop out of bed every AM looking forward to training my favourite people, and for that I am beyond blessed. @beckwiththegoodhairr Thank you for everything you do, and HUGE congrats on 50 hours of not only bettering yourself, but impacting everyone around you.
