      Marketing from a broader perspective seems easy to a person. It is definitely much more than product, price, place and promotion. Marketing while reading and understanding concepts seems easy to apply but when you actually understand that there are various parameters to understanding a consumer mindset and marketing your product. There is no limit to the types of psychographics of the consumer mindsets in India and all over the world as everything evolves daily. Most of the businesses are inclined to creating their presence felt. Consumers are always on the search for something to fulfill their needs. How do you meet a consumer like me? Â
       There are certain ways to winning a customerâs heart and keeping him bounded to you all the time. These might seem very easy but these are the most important steps to make a market a consumer like me.
1) Â Â Always Portray a True Story â Sounds clichĂŠ doesnât it? Never sell a product to the consumer. Always try to find where your product can fit in the consumers life. Consumers always want a solution to their problem. It is on the company how they portray themselves. Explain the features advantages and benefits, if it fits my need profile a consumer like me is yours for life.
2) Â Â Do Something what competitors wonât do â As a company always be ready to experiment and be out of your comfort zone. Play it safe most of the time but that one strategic move taken should change the perception of the consumer. Do not worry about failing.
3) Â Â Go Digital â Most companies are trying to go digital. Consumers in India are mostly over the phone either googling or on social media platforms finding their solutions or casually surfing on the internet. Why not be a part of their journey of surfing by flashing them a small ad about your project. Chances of the consumer tapping your ad is maybe 5/10 chances but yes giving them a recall through social media, OTT Platforms and emails can help one gain a consumer like me. Wondering what I mean? Find a trimmer on amazon and donât buy it, just surf Facebook and Instagram after seeing the product. Amazon will show you the trimmer on each site as an ad till you buy it.
4) Â Â Run Contests â Consumers love being part of contests on the pages as they get featured getting maximum views and likes on their photos. Nowadays likes, comments and shares are what decides how many friends you actually have. Coupons and Referrals if provided in advance can definitely boost your product.
5) Â Â Connect Your Product to Memes â Memes are the only reason why Facebook is trending still. Memes create maximum engagement these days because consumers are looking for fun content to watch when they are surfing the internet.
6) Â Â Influencer Promotion â Consumers follow influencers a lot whether it be any industry. Bikers, fashion bloggers, tech guruâs we have it all in India. Consumers blindly follow their views cause their trust is high in them. Want to be an influencer? I will surely write one more edition on the same.
7) Â Â Make Your Product Unique â Consumers these days are so competitive that they compete in the society to first have luxury products. Why not take an advantage of the situation and make your product unique? A unique packaging or even a unique ad stands out of the crowd. For Example â Alexa? How helpful is Alexa? It is just unique and gives a luxury status to your home.
8) Â Â Email Marketing â Being a consumer if you get free webinar invites by just putting your email id, isnât it cool? Addressing emails by your name to give you a sense of belongingness definitely creates a difference. Try to make the email personalized so that it gives a feeling of being special to the consumer.
9) Â Â Publicity Stunts â Indian consumers love to see two types of content. One is fights or debates and other is funny content. Though companies think publicity stunt as a cheap publicity, it is really effective to gain popularity and every consumer opts for a popular product and something which is publicized for the good reasons
10) Create a Community â The idea to create an online community for members to discuss topics related to the respective industry such as product reviews, trends etc. These are the best promotion channels what consumers look out for. It does take time to create a community but excellent way to target an audience. Partnering with a company will definitely help to increase the contacts and better networking in the industry.
