i dont really have any attachment to goth. so that might be influencing my opinion too...

The reason why I'm considering not writing Goth anymore is kinda Because I'm not as attached to him. Finding out about the original intentions with the fact that there wasn't much to Goth as is, on top of the fact that I wasn't really attached to him originally, is why he kinda got soured for me so quickly.

Explanations of options:

1. As of right now, there hasn’t been much of Goth within nines. What I’ve drafted so far could easily be edited to fit the vision of a new character. Already, what I planned for Goth strayed far from his canon character. It was one of the few times that I had a character I needed in mind, and molded someone from canon to fit that need. I would go back and edit what I’ve already posted, and then continue writing with this new character in mind. However, if I didn’t want to change large parts of the story, it would have to be an afterdeath kid that becomes close to Palette. This would, weirdly, have the least story changes

2. I keep Goth as a character within the story but do not continue with any planned subtextual romance, and concede with story changes

3. Goth dies next chapter real. But actually I’d just. Find a way to write him out. This would also result in story changes

I need to get in better habit of keeping them </3 I'm not afraid of killing my darlings. But, usually they do get used Somewhere, which is why I'm hesitant to share them

Here's some random stuff I cut from the Trebuchet bit of chapter 5 of nines though, since I know I won't be using it elsewhere: "After what feels like an eternity of choking on his words, Trebuchet is finally able to get out a meek and simple, “...Am I still uncouth?” Trebuchet can’t see June’s eye roll— as he’s too busy being settled back up into a sitting position— but he knows that it surely happened. He stares at June’s expression, now molded into that of gentle sympathy: mouth still pulled into a quiet smile, sockets betraying the aftertaste of concern. “Kid,” June says, plain as day: bright as a star. “You look like shit.” Honesty. It washes over him like a cold, refreshing river stream."

"“He’s really rubbed off on you. You know that, right?” Trebuchet is about to say something along the lines of ‘your evil boyfriend actually stole my eloquent vocabulary, thank you very much’ or ‘your twink wannabe boytoy can only dream of such creative use of the spoken tongue’, when a wave of nausea burns his throat and stops his thoughts in their tracks."

and thennnn a random nightshade exchange ??? Idk if I cut this from something or just noted down the dialogue idea. Which I may actually use this for something eventually we'll see:

"“As a child, I imagined a knight whisking me through the night into safety. For a time, I looked back upon it and claimed it foolish drivel. Yet now, I find myself with you. Hmmmmm I'd say sometimes? Usually my concern is if people will understand what I'm trying to write. Sometimes I am afraid that the implications aren't being communicated well enough, but I've learned to trust my audience. There will always be people who get it and people who don't.

There's been times where I worry about the reaction to certain sensitive topics that I depict. However, most of what I've written about has been taken from personal experience. And for both the stuff that is and isn't, if I'm writing something that I'm sharing, it means that I'm open to feedback to those kinds of topics. If I'm depicting something in a harmful way, I would like to know or at least understand Why it may be coming off as such.

4. a story idea you haven’t written yet

Ohhhhh I have so many wips..... I'd be here all day if I went through all my oneshot ideas </3. Hmmmm for long fics though, I know I Really want to write a prequel that follows the apple twins upbringing in dreamtale. I also plan to write the drink wedding which would be a semi long fic. Beyond that hmmmmm. Ffts..... eventually. There's one or two more ideas that lowkey are So self indulgent that idk if I'll muster the courage to do them lol. Either way, there will always be more ideas.

12. a trope you’re really into right now

This is Weirdly a hard question. I don't often think in tropes is the thing ??? Hrmmmmm. I think rn I have a particular fondness for misdirection..... it's very fun to write and plot

Hmmmmm it’s been awhile since I first started writing a new POV….. I’ve been getting back into my Palette & Gradient voice for nines if that counts !! Ive been exploring how I exactly I want to show their respective growths in the story through their narration style.
