Everyone was being so dramatic at this scene when they showed the first trailer but I honestly think this is just Reed having the reflexes of a man parenting a super powered toddler and having an instinct to protect his new friends. No one's dying here.

So, for years I claimed to be bisexual because I feared that I had to sacrifice talking about my favorite characters with my friends or else they would think I was faking being a lesbian. I never had a single instance of attraction to a man, I hated the prospect of dating one. But since everyone had convinced me for so many years that I was romantically attracted to the subject of my special interest, I believed that I just needed to wait until I found the one real man that I could tolerate. But obviously that does not work. I can realize now that there is a difference between my romantic and sexual attraction, which only goes for women, and the male characters that I have an interest in. Some people still genuinely do not believe that I am a lesbian because of this, but oh well! I no longer want to hide my sexuality or my special interest. I am sure that there are some people who this debate genuinely do apply to, in which case it is totally valid for them to realize they are bisexual too. But a lot of people, specifically autistic people, can't tell the difference between romantic, sexual, platonic attraction or just an interest apart from eachother very well! In my experience the combination of sexism and abelism led me to be basically hardwired into believing that I liked men while the traits of my autism were ignored and belittled.

Two very strong people who don't really want to be super heros and have shitty dads. Filled with whimsy despite their circumstances. That wasn't a dream mutual, that was a prophecy.
