I think the problem of why I don’t buy into the Quentin/ Amanda love story is that it isn’t at all earned. EVERY Quentin love story in Dark Shadows is love at first sight (because Quentin is a sluuuut), so when Amanda comes along, why would I believe that she is the 💕 one 💕 when every woman Quentin lays eyes on is the one??

The only way, in my opinion, to give Quentin a compelling love story is to have a slow burn friends to lovers romance (which I’m not even a fan of friends to lovers buuuut when needs must). I think that contrasts better against Quentin’s other romances to signal that this is ✨true✨ love. I just kinda got annoyed that the Amanda Harris storyline got the star crossed lovers treatment when I didn’t believe their relationship to begin with.

Truly, I don’t necessarily believe that Quentin really dooesss relationships, but if the producers insistttt on having David Selby kissing on somebody every other episode, then I would like more development to his relationships than what the writers wrote.
