There are plenty of worlds where Slade Wilson is a decent father, but this Grant isn't from one of them.

"Go the hell back to wherever it is you go! Hope you get your head blown off this time!"

Those are the last words he ever says to his father as he runs away from the man's rage and ready belt (and into the RP multiverse). He hates that he's leaving little Joey behind, but Slade's never been one to hit Joey when he could catch Grant.

And Grant knows he will get caught, eventually. Slade took them out into the snowy wilderness for more of his stupid survival training; there's no one around for miles. If he's lucky, Slade will leave Joey in the truck while he tracks his older son down for a whipping.

Really, he'll take Dai not flinching and recoiling. Ugh, his squishy big brother...

Dai huffs. "Hey, thats a pretty good show!" Really, how is he supposed to know exactly where his legs are?

He moves the cane to the left, wobbly and insecure, but still with some force. He hits something.

"It's second-hand embarrassment and adults behaving like children. The cartoons you showed me were better."

Grant has developed a singular childish trait! Staying near Dai and watching his comfort shows with him has made the boy develop some opinions about television programs.

The move still needs lots of work, but Grant makes an approving sound at the solid whack to his calf.

"That was a good hit. You missed my shins and didn't trip me up, but you're using your hips and shoulders to put more power into your strikes. That's good, Dai."

He's trying very hard to be encouraging and not babying, like his trainers. And not an asshole like his dad. Grant worries that he won't be good enough to teach his brother how to defend himself.

I writing evil or nearly evil characters more fun than writing good guys. I’m sick of feeling like people are going to judge me for my characters. I have a right to rp what I want and explain my characters actions, but not try to justify them. Because I know why a character acts a certain way doesn’t mean I think they are excused. The world isn’t black and white.
