Just Going To Yap Some More

First, I started by looking for the jacket. I checked a bunch of local thrift stores, but couldn’t really find anything so I tried online looking at places like Poshmark and eventually found one on eBay for about 20 bucks with shipping. It’s not an exact match but it was close enough. It’s a men’s medium from the brand historical emporium.

Next, I looked for the other pieces of a outfit I once again checked all of my local thrift stores. I was only able to find anything other than the shorts. I then looked at a few other regular stores like JCPenney’s, Kohl’s etc., but wasn’t able to find anything. So with Chicago Tardis right around the corner I end up having to get the shirt and ties on Amazon.

Finally, for the shoes I found a similar pair at meijer and was able to get them during one of their buy one get one for 1$ sale. I originally planned on buying a pair of blue socks like the ones she wears in this picture but just to save a bit I ended up wearing the socks from my thirteenth doctor cosplay.

When I ordered the jacket I knew it would be large on me because it was a men’s size. which I figured would be fine since in the photos of Lisa Bowerman the jacket she’s wearing is a bit big on her. However, when it came in the mail end up being a lot longer then I had expected. So I had to take it up.

In order to shorten the jacket I first removed the belt loops and then reattached them higher up. Then I removed the lower pockets and brought the bottom hem of the jacket up about 7-8 inches. After sewing that I reattached the pockets and was all set!

Lastly for the hair since I already had the right color hair for this costume I just got it cut a couple weeks prior and just pulled half of it up into a ponytail.

In total this costume cost about 60$(with tax) to put together

Overall I’m pretty happy with how this cosplay turned out. There are a couple of things I want to go back a change about this costume. Mainly finding or making a shirt in a lighter color that better matches the shorts. As well as moving the pockets of the jacket up about an inch or so. Other than that this costume turned very nicely! I’m also very glad that I made the last scene decision to make it for Chicago! I got recognized way more than I thought I would be and had a very nice conversation with Jason Haigh-Ellery about Benny!
