Hui Fang wasn’t sure what she was accepting from the other. Would she push her off, whining, just how most of her family would? Or would she laugh it off and accept her fate as a pillow? Hm. But it was so nice to feel her pale fingers threading through her very long hair.

A tiny blush settled atop of her cheeks when she felt her fingers going through her hair. Suddenly, she found it hard to focus on her game. What did Butch ask for? Apples or pears? No, it was peaches. Ah -

She looked up to the other girl as she spoke and her lips split into a playful smile that went from ear to ear. “More than five? Six? Maybe seven?” She asked, her fingers tapping against her handheld console. She was a bit excited over the prospect of lazing around with such a beautiful lady.

Katerijne looked down at her, giving her a smile. “Maybe ten, eleven, or twelve.” She followed Hui Fang’s little game. But, in reality, the blonde was willing to stay home as much as the other wanted.

She didn’t mind staying inside. They were in her Amsterdam house, which was really, really, really tiny - but extremely cozy, too. And Kat loved it, especially when it was rainy or cloudy like that day.

Suddenly, Sophie decided she wanted attention and jumped near them, on the couch, and started brushing herself against the younger girl, purring.

Katerijne’s expression softened, her features showing how pleased she was with Hui Fang and how much she enjoyed her company. Not giving it much thought, as if it was automatic, the instant the other girl put her head on her lap, the blonde woman put one hand on it and started stroking her hair very delicately and lovingly.

How could Kat refuse such a request, coming from someone as cute as that?

He lets out a small, content sigh as she pressed into him, arm winding it’s way around his waist as he sets his own coffee down on the glass table. With his hands free, his arms wrap around her shoulders, gently caressing her back. He’s seen one of the bruises, when she’s thought that perhaps in his sleep he’d accidentally done it. He tucks a piece of hair out of her face.

“I’m still willing to try a new bed.” He tries to joke, though he’s sure it won’t land. Poor thing, she could use some sleep he can tell. Leaning down, his lips press gingerly against the top of her head, lingering for a moment before he pulls back. Though he doesn’t go far, instead he rests his chin atop her head as he speaks.

“Well then what do you propose then, hm?” They couldn’t just leave all willy nilly. There was a lot of money wrapped up into this place, their funds would only last for them for so long… Not to mention, though he’s been denying anything happening, he has looked up supernatural explanations. João os religious after all…

What he read did nothing to help him feel better. Demons, the internet had told him. They had the marks, the unnerving feelings, doors slamming lights flickering… He also read that sometimes, you leave and it follows you… He keeps it to himself for now.

João is right. The joke does not land at all. Instead of chuckling, which is what she’d normally do, Katerijne snuggles against him the moment he rests his chin on her. It’s as if she’s looking for protection and warmth her husband provided, and she desperately wants that so she can get some good sleep.

Despite usually having an answer to anything, and being able to come up with solutions quickly, this time Kat remains silent. She takes her time to lift her head and look at her beloved as her hand goes up to his cheek. Her thumb starts brushing over the skin softly, and almost weakly.
