the Rennala fight is extremely fucking funny because like. you break into a grieving woman's room and act out the "how many kindergarteners could you take in a fight" meme, and then the opening dialogue for phase 2 implies that what you're fighting is actually a projection of Renalla at her full power conjured up by her daughter Ranni. but then you kill "her" (the projection of Renalla) and her final words are "Little Ranni... weave thy night into being..."

except they're not actually her final words because you reload and she's sitting there just fine. so what actually happened was you killed Ranni's tulpa of her mom. which means Ranni made her own mom say the equivalent of "my daughter... my favorite child who has never done anything wrong ever... you were right about everything... you're going to win at politics... and your waist is snatched..."

There are not enough fics on AO3 of Cloud Strife fucking his mum, Claudia. Single mother in a remote small village, raising an isolated socially awkward son who struggles to make connections. It practically writes itself! There’s a scene in the games where she talks about the perfect woman for him and she’s basically just describing herself. They’re also the spitting image of each other, which is just automatically hot. Plus, think of the extra layers of angst when she ultimately dies. I need that shy traumatised boy in her asap!!

Gotta say, I don’t love the choice to have Louis be so vitriolic and disgusted at finding out about Lestat and Gabrielle’s relationship. The show does make changes from the books, and that’s fine it’s adaptation, but in the books Louis really doesn’t care about the incest and he and Gabrielle are even friends and I far prefer that. This feels like it’s just hammering in and trying to appeal to the “see, incest bad, don’t worry we know” expectation for modern audiences.
