featheredfiend:
Too tired to argue with her, Oswald let the potential argument drop. Barbara, for the moment, was his only real friend and he wasnât in any position to drive her away. He needed her, as much as he hated to admit that he needed anybody at all. Barbara was kind. Despite what had happened to her, she was still kind. Kindness with an agenda, perhaps, but Oswald appreciated it.Â
âIâm alright. I feel as though Iâm going a bit stir crazy locked up in this house. Perhaps you and I could get out a little later, pending on my hangover, of course.â
Barbara was thankful that he let the subject drop; she hadnât been all too interested in delving into that mess of a relationship. For now, she was willing to sit contently if it meant keeping Tabitha by her side. To be honest, she wasnât so sure that Tabitha would choose her over Butch. But that wasnât a subject she was eager to cling to. Instead, she distracted herself in Oswald; lazily draping an arm over his shoulder as she let out a tired sigh. âI suppose we could, if you wanted.â Not now, of course. âIf youâre in good enough shape. We donât need you stumbling around out of your mind. Perhaps if you would get yourself some sleep, odds are youâd be looking better in the morning.âÂ
