it wasn't hard to ask everyone to sacrifice themselves. not even him. she asked it of him easily in the conference room.

but it was hard to make him an unwilling sacrifice.

they were both begging—grace was begging not to be sacrificed, and stratt was begging not to have to force his sacrifice. she didn't want to send him, but she really couldn't stand having to send him like that.

she made him the contingency plan and hoped it'd never be needed. but it was. she made a contingency plan in case he refused to go, and i bet she spent those three hours he asked for desperately hoping it wouldn't be needed after all. but it was.

but this time, he calmly and confidently takes a seat in front of the camera, wishes humanity well in his absence, and signs off before he heads off to sacrifice himself
