Brutalities endured in war were indelible stains, marks that would cling to every tress one’s mind could come up with. Tucked away, these hidden atrocities would only surface at inopportune moments, such as the times which a battle hardened warrior attempted to lay their weary heads to rest. Even acclaimed generals such as Seishuu would succumb to these horrific flashes; images of limbs strewn about like a doll in the hands of a child.

Although Seishuu was more concerned with the physical consequences of war. The toll it took upon his body weighed with the blood that trickles down his rough, calloused flesh, always hoping the scarlet spilled was not his own. Typically, he’d clean himself off thoroughly to avoid the chastising of his younger brother, or startling the noble ladies in the court. However, it soon became evident that he had most certainly not done a thorough enough job.

Kouen comes forth with a cloth woven with finest silks and dabs at the warrior’s face. Knowing how grueling this task must be for his vertically challenged prince, the gorgon hunches over to offer better leverage. The tender caress of the fabric combined with the occasional brush of Kouen’s fingers against his skin brought a smile upon his face, and he leans further into the touch, much like an over-sized pet. As he hums in appreciation, his lord exercises uncharacteristic gentleness as he strokes the snakes upon the warrior’s head.
