update:

i have housing secured, but i'm going to have to pay past due rent + possibly more to avoid outstanding debts in the future. i will be having to move and the cost is going to be exponentially more than expected, especially considering i have two cats who still need food, litter, and regular vet care throughout this entire process.

my theory is that they had an allocated amount of money they dedicated on paint edits per season, mostly used to edit japanese text out and translate it, and when they realized they were allocating too much money for this they just panicked and edited whatever they could.

case in point, for the longest time they just… changed ash’s badge case to be a rectangle.
