today’s the last bmc show om broadway, so here’s an au where michael is the one who gets squipped, not jeremy

so i saw this tweet on my tl and was unsure whether i should get into it, but the idea of all starkid shows being connected is just too fascinating. the first thing that comes to mind are obvious references and crossovers such as character cameos, but there’s nothing like that in the starkid shows (or i didn’t notice it, who knows). as there are no clear connections between musicals, i’ve decided to check if it is even possible that they are all happening in the same universe by putting time and location of every show into a table and creating a map. the table turned out way too big, so it’s easier for me to just explain my guesses and then add the map. -a very potter trilogy is taking place at the same time as the original hp books, where harry is born in 1980, making his first year in hogwarts (avps) 1991, the second (avpm) 1992 and the last one (avpsy) 1998. yet, they have cellphones, zac efron posters and andrew garfield as spider-man in the magic world, so the events are more likely to be unfolding at the same time as the musicals were written, performed&released. according to hp wiki, hogwarts is located in highlands, scotland.

-twisted is also based on an already existing thing and doesn’t seem to change the epoch of the original 1992 aladdin which means that it takes place somewhere between the 9th and 10th century in agrabah, a fictional city that resembles baghdad.

-ani’s events unfold shortly before the star wars episode iv, so that places it somewhere before the year 0 bby and makes the location ‘a galaxy far, far away’.

-holy musical b@man, the last parody show in this list. it features dick grayson becoming robin, which was first shown in 1940’s comics (detective comics #38), so it’s logical to assume it shows the same time as the series was issued. however, cellphones are a common thing in hmb which means that it’s not the middle of the 20th century and leads me to believe it’s set somewhere in the early 2000s as there are no references to more recent culture. as for gotham, it is often believed to be either in new york or new jersey, but i personally fancy the nj theory more.

-the trail to oregon is a real thing, a route from independence (missouri) to oregon city (oregon), which was mostly used in mid 1800s.

-starship isn’t so obvious, but it starts with a message from starship rangers that states that the program is 900+ years old and the technological advances in the show suggest that it’s sometime in the future, the location is a planet called bug-world.

-me and my dick was made in 2009 and doesn’t have a specific place and time, but the overall culture&cliches resemble that of the typical 2000s american life, so i’ve decided to place it in practically any us state in the late 2000s.

-firebringer is easier to define, because it shows people discovering fire and making the first cave paintings which makes the events take place sometime around 38,000 - 40,000 years BCE, the location being Franco-Cantabric region, where the first cave painting were discovered.

-the guy who didn’t like musicals takes place in 2018, as professor hidgens says ‘it’s 2018 and it can’t even blow itself up‘ when alexa doesn’t self-destruct. it all happens in hatchetfield, a fictional city and although there is a real place called hatchet field in belfast, it’s unlikely that _the_ hatchetfield is in the uk due to ‘america is great again’ so it’s practically any state, the same as ‘me and my dick’.

then, i put this info onto a world map (excluding ani and starship, because they don’t take place on earth) to see if there will be any overlaps, but the only ones that take place around the same time and place are holy musical b@man and me and my dick, the latter not having any connections to gotham city and superheroes.

so, are all starkid musicals taking place the same universe? the thing is: we can neither confirm nor debunk this theory, but i’m leaning more to the ‘yes’ side and here’s why:
