being a low support needs autistic person and finally seeing a canon autistic character whom you deeply relate to and feel represented by on a level you were never able to with other canon autistic characters only to find out a few months later that many, many people — including the author who created said character — think he's stupid and selfish and a complete idiot for missing certain social cues and not being able to handle his partner's lack of communication perfectly has been just... so awesome. really great way to start off my summer.

I know we make jokes about the proverbial asexual pervert who has written hundreds of thousands of words of smut on ao3, but also shoutout to the aces who aren’t perverts. to the aces who skip the sex scenes and wince at sex jokes and awkwardly leave the conversation when your friends start talking about sex. your boundaries aren’t childish and fuck anyone who says otherwise.
